‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

How My Christian Faith Brought Me To A Political Epiphany by Robert Socha

An epiphany has invigorated my soul to take this mantle of “Belief in Christianity,” i.e., the birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus, the Lord, and proclaim it from the rooftops. But before I do, I am compelled to expand on the despair that brought me to my renewed passion and zeal.

I have written at length about the Christian foundation of these United States and the necessity of a moral and religious people to be governed by our magnificent Constitution, believing that we could return to those roots and regain the ideals that set this country apart with a recovery of the old ways, deep repentance, and revival. What I did not want to believe or accept is that we have moved to a post-Christian ethos, back to the traditions of our Greco-Roman heritage, worshiping the gods that drove those people to their pagan temples, if by a different name. We no longer accept nor require sincere Faith in God. Instead of becoming more liberal, meaning rooted in liberty, we have become more intolerant because, as Émile Cammaerts famously wrote in his studies of C.K. Chesterton, “When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything.”

Our society is hurtling toward chaos at such a rapid pace those who test the speed of light are awed by its force, a force so wicked that Wormwood, a symbol of the Satanic plot to indoctrinate men to abandon their Faith, would be proud to have initiated because any moral virtue our country holds is rooted in the Christian Faith, and our society has forsaken that Faith for the hedonistic pleasure of fleshly desire.

Our politicians cry holy, but demand we sacrifice future generations to Moloch’s modern version, the altar of choice, straying as far away from choice’s proper foundation in liberty, for no one can be free without choice. Still, I am not speaking of the choice to prevent the unborn from their opportunity to the self-evident right to life. The usurpation of that word to define women’s rights is a terrible stain on our cultural norms.

Our politicians demand compassion, especially for those downtrodden souls who have illegally wrangled their way into our country, defying immigration law, or those pitiful hordes who have found themselves broken and homeless. But, because they are human beings, those on the Left demand we not only invite them into this great nation and communities, but roll out the red carpet and provide for them, too, at the citizen’s expense. Where is this compassion and philanthropy rooted? It is rooted in Christianity. What happens to this tradition when society abandons that Christian idealism? It must be culturally maintained by those who insist on its acceptance, those who represent us to Uncle Sam and the expense of the people who must bear the burden of their existence. The self-aggrandizement grows into an unmanageable behemoth whose sinews shake and crush everything in their path. It is the new religion whose compassion knows no bounds and integrity has no boundaries.

Additionally, we worship Gaia through our promotion and adoption of climate change as the existential crisis of our time that the worldwide adoption of net zero policies can only overcome. These terrible policies will only handicap the working classes and cause undue hardship and misery, all for the glory of those whose virtue is rooted in worshipping the earth, without making that obvious declaration, and silencing any who would try to renounce and decry the insanity as unfaithful disseminators of misinformation and worthy of the worst public scorn and reeducation. The foreboding darkness of this Orwellian nightmare is a breeding ground for hopelessness and despair.

All these identities, as mentioned above, are only a snippet of societal decline, disconcerting, and reveal the post-Christian paganism culturally adopted. So, where do we look? We can look to a man or men who will lead us into the future, putting our trust and hope in subsequent electoral victories. However, this is a dangerous temptation to take our eyes off the Prize found in the pursuit of Christ; placing our hope in the institutions of men is shortsighted and leans toward idolatry, for everyone running for public office is still merely a man with faults and frailties like any other, and there is no guarantee of a cultural U-turn.

I yearn and hope for Trump to overcome the obstacles and win reelection. But I declare that the Savior of our souls does not rest in this election’s outcome. It rests on the completed work of Calvary. My duty to proclaim His death until he comes again requires devout Faith and proclamation of Truth and Beauty in the face of terrible darkness without hesitation or apology.

My epiphany is this: whatever the outcome on November 5, hard work and sacrifice will be required of me, and it is incumbent upon me to shine and declare that some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will trust in the Name of the Lord our God and proclaim his death and resurrection until He comes again in glory to judge the living and the dead with the hope of heaven that has the power to draw all men to repentance, to open their eyes and turn them from Darkness to Light and the power of Satan, to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those sanctified by Faith in Jesus.
