If You Claim To Be A Christian – Sunday Thought For The Day
Today’s Sunday Thought is short, provocative and specifically directed to every person reading it that professes to be a Christian. It is comprised of a couple very simple questions. The questions demand a truthful answer to yourself and God. I pose them in part, because I’ve grown weary hearing people make silly references regarding when “they get to the pearly gates, etc.” I personally am not interested in looking for mythical pearly gates; I’m interested in hearing my God say “well done my good and faithful servant.”
Questions:
- If you profess to be a Christian, what have you based your salvation upon?
- What is your testimony, i.e., under what circumstances were you saved?
- How has God changed your life?
Salvation is not a joke nor is it a game. I grow weary hearing people make silly references regarding when “they get to the pearly gates, etc; people who do not attend church; people who use Christ’s name as a crude, vulgar adjective and who believe God’s last name is “damn” Personally I’m not interested in looking for mythical pearly gates; I’m interested in hearing my God say “well done my good and faithful servant.”
I implore you, do not take these questions lightly. Your eternity hangs in the balance based upon how you answer them.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
