I'm proud of the Tea Party
Last night I tweeted that Harry Reid should have his mouth washed out with a dirty diaper the very next time he calls those of us demanding financial accountability extremists. If they call Tea Party’s insistence that wild spending and waste stop – that it be addressed here and now – if that’s hijacking the Republican Party sobeit.
Harry Reid is calling us names and demanding compromise. Where was the compromise when Pelosi, Reid, Obama, were shoving Obama’s healthcare plan on us? Where was the compromise when Obama forced $787 billion in stimulus which we objected to? Did Reid and the Democrats compromise on anything they owned the three branches of government? Now we are to be labeled as subversives and extremists because we know from experience congress nor the president does what they say they will.
If Boehner’s bill passes, there isn’t a snowballs chance in the Sahara dessert that we will ever have the opportunity to insist debt be addressed as it should be. I don’t care who the pundits are saying we should compromise, we’ve compromised in the past and what has it gotten us but deeper into debt.
If Boehner’s bill were any good he wouldn’t need to twist arms and con people to support it. And, after delaying the vote last night because of not having the votes, anything short of a new bill today means we the people are going to be shafted. Congress and the president doesn’t live as we do nor do they have the same reality we do. They will do whatever it takes to sustain themselves and sustaining themselves has nothing to do with making life better for us. And for anyone who argues that is untrue, I argue by saying if its not true how did we get into this mess?
Shame on McCain, Reid, Schumer, Pelosi, Obama, and all of the others who are calling us names. Let me repeat, this is about financial responsibility and for congress and the president to condemn us for that, unambiguously displays my/our position. They can cry doomsday scenarios all they want. Their track record is one of saying whatever it takes to get what they want. What credibility does Geithner have, he lied about his personal taxes, he lied about the cost of healthcare – now we should believe him?
This isn’t about Republicans, this is about the people and it’s time the elected started listening to us. Before they were elected they were no smarter than a shoebox, now we’re supposed to believe they have become imbued with super intelligence. Boehner’s bill doesn’t contain real spending cuts, it doesn’t address future debt, it doesn’t address spending caps – his bill is smoke and mirrors. And I for one am proud that the Tea Party is standing firm.
This is a pornographic kabuki theater in which we the people will be violated. What the politicians do not like is that we the people have found our voices. And while Obama’s using scare tactics and lies to allow more uncontrolled spending may be in keeping with his character, it does nothing to help us.
