‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

In Our Father’s House – Sunday Thought For The Day

November 15, 2025

In Psalms 122:1 (KJV), the Psalmist writes: “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.”  That is the way we should feel as we enter into our Lord’s house.

Even if we have had a particularly difficult week, the weariness and fatigue can be washed away once we are in God’s house. Even if we have been unfaithful to the Lord and/or haven’t behaved, as we know we should, we can have those days washed away in our Father’s house.

In our Father’s house we divest ourselves of all our burdens.  If we are walking into our Father’s house burdened by the pains of life and/or the world and walk just as burdened as when we walked in – something is wrong in our church or something is wrong in our relationship with the Lord.

The building we call our Father’s house, is where we go to worship.  It is where we go to have our Spirit fed, and our hearts comforted and refreshed.  It is where we go to receive instruction, encouragement and yes, at times correction.  But, it is not where we go to walk out the same way we walked in.  We cannot sit in the presence of the living God and walk out untouched, unless it is a dead church, a spiritually empty preacher or unless we need a spiritual overhaul.  If we aren’t feeling any different walking out than we did walking in; something is spiritually wrong with the church or us.

There are times, that as I sit worshipping, I think about what it will be like in heaven when I am in my eternal home praising my Savior face-to-face with a heavenly choir. I cannot imagine what it will be like to sing praises to our Heavenly Father with the heavenly hosts in my resurrected body that is perfect and free of and from sin.

And most of all I look forward to seeing my Savior and being able to touch Him and hold his hand and tell him how much I love Him and how thankful I am He loved me enough to die for me. Personally I cannot find a reason to not prepare for that experience in glory by practicing it in our lives here on earth; then, as an old preacher once said:  We’ll really have something to forward to in the new heavenly city that Jesus has gone to prepare for us is beyond my earthly capacity to dream.

Psalm 100 (KJV)

1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with signing.

3 Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.
