Look-A-Likes Aren't The Real Thing
Anyone with the money and inclination can get a Pontiac Fiero chassis from a salvage yard, order a Lamborghini kit, put it together, and for less than $10,000 have themselves a replica of the Lamborghini of their choice. A replica that would fool the eyes of those unfamiliar with real Lamborghinis.
But it goes without saying that driving a car that almost looks like the real thing doesn’t make it the real, nearly $400,000 supercar, any more than making a rifle look like an assault rifle makes it an assault rifle.
I’ve lost my patience with the liars in the media, anti-Second Amendment politicians, anti-gun groups, and the foolish people who believe them when they say that we must get assault weapons off the streets. I feel like grabbing them by their collective shirt collar and slapping the truth into them.
Let me once again make it as clear as I possibly can; assault weapons are fully-automatic weapons such as the ones used in the military and by Mexican drug cartels. So, unless you are stealing them from the military or you were provided a few courtesy of Eric Holder and Fast and Furious, the assault weapons we hear these maddening people blathering about do not exist in the context they argue.
The assignation “assault weapons” used today was the result of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 in which lubricious politicians surreptitiously expanded the true definition of assault weapons to include semi-automatic firearms. It was political sleight of hand that was designed to limit our ability to enjoy semi-automatics. The Bill included a prohibition on the manufacture of certain semi-automatics for use by private citizens.
The other thing that cannot be stated enough is that just as prohibition did nothing to stop alcohol consumption, but, in fact, not only increased the per capita consumption of alcohol but also ushered in bootlegging and gangland crime and unleashed epic levels of prostitution and political graft. It directly contributed to untold numbers of deaths directly attributable to bad alcohol. The unintended consequences of crime, violence, murderous mayhem and political corruption resulted in the repeal of Prohibition.
Firearms haters and the anti-gun agenda driven do not care about the truth; they care about achieving their diabolical agendas. No one wants to see innocent people harmed, but just as prohibition didn’t stop alcohol abuse, just as the only thing anti-smoking measures has done is increase unemployment and create epic shortfalls of tax dollars municipalities need to survive on — the only thing anti-firearms legislation will accomplish is rain down the worst possible nightmare, i.e., armed criminals unleashed on a public unable to defend themselves.
But people do not think about that. Rather they sit in front of their television sets, open-mouthed and brain dead, allowing themselves to be inculcated with lies and rancor.
The same people telling us we shouldn’t drive SUVs, eat at Burger King, drink 64-ounce cups of Coke, and own the legal guns of our choice, are the same ones who advocate abortion on demand and legalization of drugs. For them it is about what they approve of, and they will use any subterfuge to accomplish same.
And that includes the left-handed attempts to limit our access to legal firearms by limiting mag capacity. Placing limits on mags is a two-pronged attempt to undermine the Second Amendment. On the one hand, setting mag-cap limits can be presented as a reasonable argument most often starting with “why do you need a 15, 30, etc. cap-mag for hunting?” or whatever — you fill in the blank.
The ignorance of that mentality is the idea that limiting mag-caps will limit crime. They either ignorantly or intentionally overlook the fact that the most prolific outlaws of the old west carried three, four, and many times more handguns on their person. Single-shot and two-shot derringers were also weapons of choice in those days. The idea of limiting mag-caps as a prophylactic against crime is a blatantly errant one.
The other approach being stealthily used is court precedents and/or political precedents. We jeopardize ourselves if we forget that it took decades for socialists to fully infiltrate our government, and it took decades for abortion and separation of church and state legislation to be passed, just as it did for homosexual marriage to become legal in certain states.
My point being, the best weapon we have against the subversion of the Second Amendment is to not compromise and to not give in even an inch. Because every time that has happened, it has cost free Americans more of their Inalienable Rights.
