Obama is a jobs killer not creator.
If Obama were sincere in job creation, his Keynesian economic philosophy notwithstanding, he would not intentionally and despiteously destroy jobs.
If he were interested in job creation he would not have killed the NASA Space Shuttle Program in Florida. Florida’s Space Coast lost 9,000 jobs, with projections of another 11,000 or more lost across the region, because NASA farmed out a lot of work to private firms. Which according to the Florida Today newspaper, Florida will loose $600 million in wages alone. We are also told that the majority of these jobs cannot be replaced in Florida. One need not be a mensa club member to figure out the devastating effect this will have on Florida.
To a state ravaged by the housing market downturn, this is the equivalent of a near death blow. He has intentionally caused the closing of small businesses across the Florida region.
His claim is that it was done to save money as he pursued bigger and grander adventures for our space program. With that he turned the shuttle program over to the Russians at a cost of tens of billions per flight, and who knows how many billions in-between launches. It’s also unknown what share of we are responsible for, with Russia’s first attempt to shuttle supplies ending in the shuttle exploding.
Obama has been successfully sued in court for using the BP Oil Company accident, to shut down drilling and other related businesses, which cost the Gulf Coast area thousands of jobs and tens of millions in industry.
“Consider the excessive delays imposed on the energy industry in the Gulf of Mexico by Obama’s Department of the Interior in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon tragedy. Other states border the Gulf, of course, but the Gulf region’s energy industry is centered in Texas, so when the federal government stops issuing drilling permits and promulgates costly new regulations on drilling in the Gulf, Texas suffers most. An econometric study released Friday by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., describes the magnitude of the Obama administration’s regulatory strangulation of the Gulf energy economy:” (Washington Examiner Editorial; 7/23/11)
“The Obama Administration has systematically blocked domestic energy production in the Gulf of Mexico, and today’s report puts that action in stark terms. It documents a 250 percent increase in the deepwater exploration permit backlog with a decrease of nearly 80 percent for plan approvals and deepwater drilling. That means a loss of $9 billion in capital investment in 2011, along with a projected loss to the government of $25 billion in royalties and tax payments over the next three years, to say nothing of the tens of thousands of jobs lost.”
“Also getting into Obama’s anti-Texas act is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, with its new Cross-State Air Pollution Rule. This rule is clearly designed to shut down coal-fired power plants in the nation’s heartland. Because EPA is giving industry far too little time to adapt to the new rule, starting next year millions of people are going to have to make due with less electricity for air conditioning and heat. Lots of people will be put out of work as well.”
“And elsewhere in [this] edition of The Washington Examiner, Bryan Shaw, chairman of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, notes that EPA’s own computer modeling showed his state does not contribute significantly to the emissions the rule seeks to reduce. But EPA officials refuse to explain why they insist on applying the new rule to Texas.”
Obama’s EPA attacks have, and continue too cost West Virginia jobs and income. The las Vegas Tourist Bureaus, the Mayor of Las Vegas, and Nevada Senator Harry Reid himself, were forced several times to insist Obama stop attacking Vegas as a destination point, because his words were resulting in the further crippling of the state that leads the nation in the housing downturn.
Obama’s Hitlerian agencies have cost Gibson Guitar income that will in all probability cost the small business jobs. Obama has allowed his NLRB to block Boeing’s plans to build planes in South Carolina. Obama’s actions will not only cost South Carolina upwards of 5,000 jobs, it will cost the state ancillary jobs and growth, it will also cost the state income and tax revenue. And even more devastatingly it could potentially cause another American industry to take its business overseas.
The business community has frequently asked him to stop speaking in such hostile and dark terms about the financial climate of America – because he was doing it harm.
Obama has done nothing to help create jobs and everything to blunt job growth. He has allowed, and many believe has encouraged, the active punishing of those who oppose him by specifically impacting their business environment.
And, in the face of all this and more, he pompously parades out a jobs plan, that is nothing more than a thinly veiled stimulus plan, that will cost taxpayers at least a trillion dollars, despite his proposed amount of $457 billion. Which it should be mentioned, went from $300 billion to $457 billion in one day. More grossly apparent is that his proposed plan isn’t about jobs at all, it’s a stealth measure to raise taxes, redistribute wealth, expand government, and chain people to government dependency.
And as if that isn’t bad enough – he parades himself about as actually doing something important. While he may have the support of a union or two, and a few congressman who want more spending. He should understand that unions are like dogs – they’ll go wherever they get a handout. And politicians are just that, which means self-preservation is their greatest motivator, which includes turning on him as his numbers plummet.
He may have fooled people once, but it’s becoming increasingly less likely he will fool people again. He is a liar, a promoter of racial-discord, an arrogant narcissist who flaunts himself and family as though they were royalty. But, people are watching, and paying attention – and that includes those who are not as vocal as many others. He can play the race card, he can bully, he can lie – but in the final analysis he just might be in for the biggest fall of his miserable and corrupt life.
