‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Rotten Fish and False Teachers – Sunday Thought For The Day

February 26, 2023

There’s an old saying that a fish rots from the head down; it’s an observation with which I agree 100 percent.  More importantly, however, I believe the verse in Proverbs 29:2 (KJV): “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”

We need look no further than out of the window on any given day to see the effects of wicked, godless rule.  I hear people lament virtually daily that the world has become so devastatingly wicked and evil.  How did it happen? is the commonly heard question.

In response to the question, I don’t see it as any great mystery.  It has happened, because Christian leadership in the church and denominational leadership have ceased to believe and obey God’s Word; they’ve clothed themselves in wickedness.

The so-called leaders of the church are leading people astray, both on a local level and at the top denominational levels.  Debaucherous sexual sin is embraced and accepted, biblical guidelines abandoned, true Holy Spirit calling and anointing to preach and teach are no longer needed nor is strict adherence to the Word of God.

Bible colleges and seminaries have become bastions of misinstruction.  The Word of God is marginalized by teachers and professors.  Those who are committed to the Word of God are attacked as intolerant and closed-minded.

God’s Word is no longer not just the final authority, but the only authority of the Christian’s life.  Today Oprah, blasphemous television shows and the talking heads on cable news shows are the authorities on how people should live – in conjunction with false teachers masquerading as ministers.  And the fallen Christian Church listens to them.  The heads of denominations are embracing and advocating acceptance of what God’s word condemns.  Church leaders we should be able to trust are molesting children.  Church leaders openly tell congregations that they don’t believe the Word of God in toto.  They openly teach and preach falsehoods.  Politics and pigmentation of skin receive more attention than “You must be born again.”

With these things happening, how can church leaders lead the sheep of Christ in paths of righteousness or reach the unsaved?

The end result is that the people suffer for a lack of the truth.  Wickedness spreads with the church’s blessing.  If church leadership were committed to obeying the Word of God, the hearts of many would be turned to God.

The wrath of God upon sinful man is a fixed point in time that only God the Father knows. False teachers will not go unpunished – repent while there is still time.

Mark 13:3-6 KJV
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
