The Greatest Christian Stumbling Block – Sunday Thought For The Day
One of the greatest stumbling blocks and the primary causal factor leading to disobedience to God in Christendom today, is that Christians have forgotten that Satan is real. It thus, then also goes without saying, that the same stumbling block is magnified ad infinitum for those who reject God’s free gift of Salvation, i.e., Jesus Christ.
In the minds of many, if not most people today; the devil is viewed as not much more than a halloween costume or a television show named Lucifer. Satan isn’t viewed real enough to have his name used as a curse word in the same way that Christ’s name has become.
Satan is not viewed as the single most evil being God ever created. Many in Christendom, and most of the unsaved people in the world, are blind to the reality that there exists a real being who neither sleeps nor rests, who is dedicated to destroying each and every person he can lead astray.
Even among those who understand that Satan is real and determined to steal, kill, and destroy, many believe same only from the philosophical point of view – not the literal point of view.
I encourage you to take time today, and ask God the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal to you if you absolutely believe that the devil exists. Because until we as Christians come to the sobering fact that that he does and exactly what that means – we will be ignorant of the reason to embrace Christ in every aspect of our lives. Because we will have no regard for what awaits those who reject Christ in favor of disbelief and/or the marginalization of the evil one committed to our downfall and destruction.

John 8:41-47 KJV
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
