The Real Battle Is Spiritual Not Political by “Brother Bill”

Soooo: Today let’s capture how we get and keep God’s Holy Spirit something deeply spiritual and profoundly true: the real battle is not political—it is spiritual. Human compassion is temporary; God’s compassion is eternal.
No party, philosophy, or ideology can save a person—only Jesus Christ; we don’t even see it until he tears away the veil, gives us a new heart and mind, and fills us with Spirit and fire to make us not just converts, but His true disciples.
Let’s walk through what we have just expressed with complete NKJV verses, showing how the veil is lifted, the old man dies, and the Spirit and fire bring devastation to sin and reconstruction to the soul.
1. The Heart and Mind Are Broken Without Christ
Jeremiah 17:9 (NKJV)
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?”
• Our heart cannot be trusted until Christ changes it.
Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”
• We are not to trust our own mind or logic, but the Lord alone.
1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV)
“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
• Until the Spirit comes in, our mind is blind and rebellious.
2. A Veil Covers Our Eyes—Until Jesus
2 Corinthians 3:14–16 (NKJV)
14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.
15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
• We can’t see truth or be transformed until we turn to Jesus.
3. When Wind (Spirit) Meets Fire — The Old Man Dies
Ezekiel 37:5 (NKJV)
“Thus says the Lord God to these bones: ‘Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.’”
• The breath of life (Spirit) is what revives the dead.
Acts 2:2–4 (NKJV)
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
• Wind and fire came at Pentecost—symbolizing power, purification, and new birth.
Matthew 3:11 (NKJV)
“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
• Jesus baptizes us with Spirit and fire—not just forgiveness, but refining transformation.
4. The Old Man Dies by Fire — All Things Become New
Romans 6:6 (NKJV)
“Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.”
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me…”
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
5. The Rebuilding Begins — We Become Disciples
Luke 9:23 (NKJV)
“Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.’”
John 8:31–32 (NKJV)
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Romans 12:1–2 (NKJV)
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
