The Real Enemies of The State by RoseAnn Salanitri
The wisdom within the Bible is applicable for all times. Hosea 4:6 (KJV) is one of those verses that aptly applies to the current debacles we are experiencing in our country today. It says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Unfortunately, lack of knowledge when it comes to biblical precepts and our Constitution are only part of our national problems. The real culprits of this land have remained silent and unnoticed.
While the verse in Hosea’s time had an application for his contemporaries, it also has a significant application for us in the US today. There are many well-founded arguments concerning Biden’s overstepping his authority as president and forgiving student debt. But perhaps the best argument against Biden’s actions lie within the opening paragraph of Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution entitled “Powers of Congress.” It delineates very clearly the powers of taxation and by extension, taxation resulting from congressional actions, lie with Congress – not the president. The Constitution very clearly limits these powers, which Congress regularly ignores. But since the vast majority of the American people are either ignorant of the restrictions within the Constitution or too lazy to do anything about their violations, they have not sought to enforce it. In reality, the only powers Congress has are not within the Constitution but within those who are responsible for keeping the Constitution. Consequently, we have lost its effectiveness and the protection it provided against tyrannical elitists who have learned how to manipulate it to garner votes. It’s a true case of use it or lose it. God forgive us.
Besides clearly delineating congressional taxation powers in Article 1, Section 8, this section makes a strong case against Biden’s discriminatory actions when it refers to the generalwelfare of the United States. It reads:
“The Congress (not the President-interjection mine)shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defence (sic) and general welfare of the United States…”
The implications of this language can be easily overlooked. The powers of Congress to tax are strictly for the common defense and general welfareof its citizens, and herein lies the rub. Biden’s student loan forgiveness applies to a specific group of people – or special group of people rendering it “special welfare”- which is not general welfare. In actuality, it is discriminatory in that it forgives debt for a specific group of people. Constitutionally, the general welfare clause applies to matters that benefit the general public and not specific groups of people. But since we no longer seem to use the Constitution as our legal and governmental construct, we are losing its power to protect us against would-be tyrants and imbecilic leaders. Although it may seem altruistic to dip into the coffers of this nation to help those in need, it is short-sighted and extremely dangerous since the needs of the masses are incalculable and would shortly exhaust any well-funded coffer. Our Founders knew what they were doing when they wrote the Constitution. It’s a tragedy that those who represent us in all branches of government do not. But it’s even more tragic that we have let this behavior escalate.
Getting down to the nitty-gritty. We can point fingers at the obvious culprits who have had a hand in destroying this once free nation, but those that are not-so obvious bear the real guilt. They are none other than the silent majority. When Jerry Falwell coined the term, he meant it as being descriptive of the majority of Americans whose voices were not being heard as loudly as others but were still in control. Standing at this point in time, I think Falwell was far too kind to those who chose to remain silent while the likes of Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and now Joe Biden and their cronies raped this nation of its virtues and freedoms. Back in the 1990s, I began to shout the warnings of the coming distress that was more than evident, but few listened. They were too comfortable and too inoculated with their status quo lifestyles to do anything. Some thought I was out of my mind and nothing more than an ill-advised alarmist. Not only were they wrong; they bear the burden of our destruction upon their shoulders. This insanity could have easily been stopped back then, but few would listen, and even many of those that did listen, only listened momentarily before sitting back in their recliners and clicking their remotes to the next channel. Instead of speaking up, they chose to remain silent. They remained silent when Lyndon Johnson stripped the churches of their political voice; they remained silent when prayer was taken out of school; they remained silent when millions of the most innocent among us were sacrificed at the altar of the abortionists; they remained silent when schools began eroticizing our children under the banner of sex education; they remained silent when the halls of academia taught our children evolution and consequently that God as Creator is just a myth; they remained silent as morality was taught as something that is subjective; and they continue to remain silent as our tax dollars pay for schools that confuse our children as to their gender. Yes, there were and are those that speak up. God bless them. The others should be thankful that I’m not their judge.
I love this country – at least I love the country that I grew up in. I no longer recognize the land of the free and the home of the brave, for it has become the land awash in immorality, government servitude, and home of the lazy. To be sure, there is still a remnant that has not bowed down to the political gods and goddesses that would enslave us. If there wasn’t, the wrath of God would have already fallen upon us. Therein lies our hope. But the decision still rests with us who understand what we are losing, and whether or not we will continue to be silent or step up and shake the powers of the elitists. Only God knows. But remember, you will be standing before Him one day. On that day will you be considered to be a member of the lukewarm church (Rev. 2:12ff), which He spits out of His mouth, or will you be an overcomer? The crossroads stand before you and the choice is yours.
