Unlike Gotham City Recovering From Evil of Obama Won't Happen Overnight
One of the few things people know about me is that I am a huge Spiderman cartoon fan, along with the Justice League cartoons. As I shared on my live Daily Radio Rant yesterday, it happened as I was watching one such cartoon late evening, that I drew a comparison to America.
In the cartoon, the city of Gotham and New York City where Spiderman lives, huge sections are demolished by the villains Spidey and the other Super Heroes who do battle with each other daily. But by the time the next show airs the city is completely rebuilt and it is as if nothing had ever taken place. It is as if the Hobgoblin, the Sandman, Despero, or the Secret Society of Super Villains had never wreaked havoc on the town.
Specific to that reality, the damage and devastation being wreaked upon the United States by the caricature of a leader currently occupying the White House will not be corrected by the next episode; i.e., the next administration.
The damage that Obama is doing to America (and in reality, to the world), far exceeds the buildings, streets, trains, and cars destroyed each show on my favorite cartoon shows. The damage Obama is doing is real and it will not be corrected by the next administration.
First of all, there is no incentive for the next president to take corrective measures. How can that be you say? I’m glad you asked.
Karl Rove has worked, plotted, planned, and positioned Jeb Bush to assume the presidential throne in 2016. Anyone who doesn’t believe Jeb Bush will be anything more than just another big government, pro-amnesty, an advocate for invasive government expansion, and increased government spending might as well believe in the tooth fairy.
For everyone who believes the next president will do one thing to repeal obamacare, I’ve got real estate for sale on Jupiter that would be perfect for you.
I’m not a fatalist, I’m a realist. The only reason Obama has been able to get away with the anti-Constitutional, impeachable offenses he has, is because of the feckless Republicans in Congress. I do not expect anything more than we have witnessed from Democrats; I do however expect a great deal from Republicans.
In 2003, it became unambiguously apparent to me that my expectations were misplaced. It became apparent that Karl Rove and the so-called Republican leadership had different designs for my/our America. And that was long before Rove was openly trumpeting his intentions on Fox News.
The GOP establishment led by Rove and Reince Preibus are just as committed to fundamentally changing America as Obama. And trust me, there is very little difference between the America Rove envisions and the one Obama envisions.
Keep in mind that Rove helped George W. Bush grow the size of government, fight for amnesty as a reward for illegal aliens, refuse to fight against McCain-Feingold (as well as other horrific legislation by McCain, et al). It was Rove who openly lamented having to use Christian Conservatives to get Bush reelected in 2004. Do you remember the Medicare Prescription Plan and the costly nightmare it became? How about NAFTA? How about the super highway from Mexico to Canada, that Rove worked on behind the scenes for Bush? Speaking of which, how many times do you recall Rove speaking out against the financially oppressive highway bill that Bush had claimed was off the table, which mysteriously reappeared and he signed immediately after he won reelection?
Rove and the GOP establishment have stated publicly that they will not support true Conservatives; i.e., those candidates we support. They will only support those whom they approve of. Mitch McConnell, with the blessing of Rove, blacklisted all groups that raised campaign money for Tea Party candidates. It was Rove who told a gathering that Tea Party candidate Todd Akin should be murdered!
The problem is that unlike my favorite cartoon shows, we have no super heroes to rescue us. We the People are the super heroes and we refuse to gird up our loins and do battle in a way that not only assures us victory but that saves our future.
The voters today are eagerly willing to hold their noses and vote for treasonous Republicans because they misguidedly believe if they do not, a treasonous Democrat will win. Why else support Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Thad Cochran, John Cornyn, to mention but a few?
It also occurred to me that it isn’t that we have a lack of super heroes today, it is that the majority of people today are unwilling to fight for what they claim to believe in. This is also the demonstrable difference between so-called conservative voters and liberal voters.
