‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Warning Lights Are Signs For Our Safety – Sunday Thought For The Day

The Word of God is filled with warning labels, alerting us to things that are harmful to our spiritual health.  When we read, “These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him” (Prov. 6:16 KJV), the verse should grab our attention like a flashing warning signal.  The list in the verses following that verse 16 warn us against destructive tendencies like pride and dishonesty—sins that damage earthly relationships and grieve our heavenly Father.

But verse 23 tells us:For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.”

The point being, that,  God’s warnings aren’t meant to take the fun out of our lives, but rather to protect and preserve our lives.  Warning lights and corrective measures are because God loves us, not because hateful tyrant.  As a child, I wasn’t cautioned about certain behaviors and/or chastened for wrong behavior because my mother didn’t love me; I was reprimanded because in her wisdom she knew disobedience and inappropriate behavior had bad outcomes.

It was from a heart of love that I spent countless hours as a father instructing our son against behavior and influences that could, and ultimately would cause him great pain.

I thank God that He loves us enough to caution, warn, and chasten when necessary.  My regret is that I haven’t obeyed Him more often then I have.

READ:

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

20 My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

READ ALSO:

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
