We Need More From Gowdy Than “Blistering Statements”
Let me see if I can cobble together a few observations to reemphasize a point I have frequently made.
One of my friends is a Judge. He is also a marine. He is frequently known to reference feckless politicians by assignations not suitable for even mature audiences, because most of them have never served in the military. Having said that, I say we should be thankful these pretentious self-absorbed, limp wrist pansies in yellow petticoats haven’t served in the military and especially in combat.
They would have boasted of loosing war(s) by dropping their bloomers with their hands raised in the air. They would have made defeat an honorable endeavor. And none would be better at it than Republicans. They would have named buildings in honor of their ignoble defeats and boasted of them on FoxNews.
Tangential to that whenever Republican elitists have reached what amounts to a pernicious per curiam decision they parade out an assortment of worthless individuals, chief of whom is Trey Gowdy.
Trey Gowdy would have been advertised as the guest of honor to entice people to attend the “Feast of Barmecide.” For those unfamiliar with The Arabian Nights’ Entertainments, Barmecide was a wealthy Persian who invited a beggar to a feast of imaginary food, providing only the illusion of substance.
I submit to you that whenever Republicans wheel out Trey Gowdy the only thing We the People are going to get is the illusion of truth and justice.
Gowdy is talking tough about former Director of the FBI, James Comey. A FoxNews headline read: House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy scorched James Comey in a blistering opening statement at a high-profile congressional hearing on Tuesday, declaring “we can’t survive with a justice system we don’t trust.” (See: Gowdy Scorches Comey In Blistering Opening Statement At IG Hearing; Brooke Singman; foxnews.com)
The problem is that we can always count on Gowdy to give “blistering” statements, but what we need is for Gowdy and his pathetic cabal of spineless calumniators to give us, is action. We need for Gowdy and the pusillanimous camarilla of pretenders to stand up and defend the interests of We the People.
If “blistering” statements were an Olympic sport Gowdy would be a gold-medal winner. But it is not, he is not, and We the People are the losers, because at the end of the day Gowdy, et al, always finds inglorious ways to lose while betraying us. (See: Name One Thing ‘Congressional Hearings’ Have Accomplished; 4/12/2018; mychal-massie.com)
Gowdy gave “blistering” statements during the Fast and Furious hearing but former Attorney General Holder and Obama are still walking around free as a bird never having been made to pay the consequences of their illegal actions. Ask the family of the late Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry, just what Gowdy’s “blistering” statements did to bring them justice after their son was murdered with a firearm from the Obama-Holder illicit gun running operation? Ask the families of over 200 honest, hardworking Mexicans who were murdered with firearms obtained from the Obama-Holder illicit gunrunning operation the same question?
Gowdy gave “blistering” statements during the Congressional Hearings on Benghazi. Do you recall anyone going to jail or being indicted, because I sure don’t? However, I do remember Gowdy giving Hillary Clinton a forum to thumb her nose at Sean Smith, Ambassador Stevens, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty, the four brave Americans Obama and Clinton sanctioned to be murdered there.
Gowdy was not at a loss for “blistering” statements during the Facebook/Zuckerberg Congressional hearings. But just as every time before that – it was the only thing Gowdy accomplished.
Gowdy is advertised as having been an Assistant United States Attorney. This paved the way for him to appear in “four episodes of the television show Forensic Files”; he appeared on “Dateline NBC and SCETV.” If I were left to judge the success of his legal career based upon the success of his Congressional career, I would be justified in believing the bad guys pleaded for him to oppose them.
If he was the successful prosecutor in South Carolina, that he would have us believe, what happened to those skills once he was elected? We want Gowdy and his petticoat Republicans to defend our way of life, our Constitution, and our laws. We don’t need nor do we equate “blistering” statements as being synonymous with any of the aforementioned.
We want Gowdy and the Republicans to support President Trump, because he is the only one defending We the People. I grow sick and tired of watching Republicans undermine President Trump. I grow sick and tired of watching Republicans support evil reprobates, i.e., Democrats and Karl Rove, as they attack President Trump.
I want Trey Gowdy to remind the ambsace Republicans that betrayal and cowardice are not talismanic qualities. I want Gowdy and his operose collective of feckless Republicans to engage in “blistering” attacks against the Clintons, former attorney general Janet Reno, and the Democrats for ripping Elian Gonzalez from his mother and family and shipping him back to Fidel Castro’s Cuba.
Another thing I want is for the likes of Gowdy to stop stealing our money. Gowdy cost the taxpayers $7.1 million for the Benghazi Hearing alone and the only thing we got out of it was a primetime performance by Hillary Clinton. It doesn’t cost millions of dollars for a Congressional theatrical performance where Congressional weasels bluff, bluster, and pontificate for news cameras.
And lest I be remiss, I would like for Trey Gowdy to explain in language we can all understand the exact relationship he had with the Hillary Clinton camp. Once we get that information maybe we will understand why she is so untouchable.
