We Must Trust God To Be Truth by “Brother Bill”

To know that Jesus Christ is who He said He is—the Son of God, the Messiah, the Savior—we must consider:
1. Prophecy fulfilled
2. Historical accuracy
3. Supernatural revelation
4. Jesus’ own resurrection
5. The inerrancy of the Bible, which names people like Josiah, Cyrus, and Jesus centuries before they were born — proving divine authorship.
Let’s look at these using complete NKJV verses to show how Scripture confirms that Jesus is exactly who He claimed to be.
1. The Bible Foretells Specific People by Name BEFORE They Are Born
A. King Josiah — Named 300 Years Before Birth
1 Kings 13:2 (NKJV)
Then he cried out against the altar by the word of the LORD, and said, “O altar, altar! Thus says the LORD: ‘Behold, a child, Josiah by name, shall be born to the house of David; and on you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and men’s bones shall be burned on you.’”
— Fulfilled in 2 Kings 23:15–20, over 300 years later. No other religion has predictive prophecy like this.
B. King Cyrus of Persia — Named 150+ Years Before He Ruled
Isaiah 44:28 (NKJV)
Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd, and he shall perform all My pleasure, saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,” and to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid.”’
Isaiah 45:1 (NKJV)
“Thus says the LORD to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held—to subdue nations before him and loose the armor of kings, to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut…”
— Fulfilled in Ezra 1:1–2, 150+ years laterwhen Cyrus allowed the Jews to return and rebuild Jerusalem. Cyrus wasn’t even born when Isaiah wrote this.
C. Jesus Christ — Prophesied in Detail Centuries Before His Birth
The Old Testament contains over 300 prophecies of the Messiah — many fulfilled exactly in Jesus. Here are just a few:
Born of a virgin
Isaiah 7:14 (NKJV)
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”
(Fulfilled in Matthew 1:22–23)
Born in Bethlehem
Micah 5:2 (NKJV)
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.”
(Fulfilled in Matthew 2:1)
Rejected by His own people
Isaiah 53:3 (NKJV)
“He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.”
(Fulfilled in John 1:11, John 19:15)
Pierced for our sins
Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”
Psalm 22:16 (NKJV)
“They pierced My hands and My feet.”
(Fulfilled in John 19:34, 37)
Cast lots for His garments
Psalm 22:18 (NKJV)
“They divide My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.”
(Fulfilled in Matthew 27:35)
Buried in a rich man’s tomb
Isaiah 53:9 (NKJV)
“And they made His grave with the wicked—but with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.”
(Fulfilled in Matthew 27:57–60)
2. Jesus Knew and Claimed to Fulfill Scripture
Luke 24:44 (NKJV)
Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”
John 5:39 (NKJV)
“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.”
3. The Resurrection Proves His Identity
Romans 1:4 (NKJV)
“…and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (NKJV)
“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”
4. The Bible is Inerrant Because Only God Can Write It Like This
2 Peter 1:21 (NKJV)
“For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
Isaiah 46:9–10 (NKJV)
“Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done…”
Only God can predict the future with 100% accuracy. The Bible did so — naming kings and Messiah before birth, describing events centuries in advance. No other book or religious text does this.
Final Word: Why We Can Trust Jesus
Jesus is not a myth, moral teacher, or prophet only. He is the promised One, proven by:
• Prophecy fulfilled
• Names written before birth (Josiah, Cyrus, Jesus)
• His resurrection
• The supernatural accuracy of Scripture
John 20:31 (NKJV)
“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”
Charles Darwin himself was surprisingly honest about what would falsify his theory of evolution. He admitted that certain types of evidence — or the lack thereof — would undermine the whole framework of natural selection and common descent.
Let’s look at what Darwin said would nullify evolution, along with modern scientific findings that directly challenge or contradict his predictions, particularly in these key areas:
