‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

What Many Overlooked In President Trump Assassination Attempt – Sunday Thought For The Day

September 14, 2024

Earlier this week, a friend and I were discussing the attempted assassination of President Trump.  My friend commented, that the hand of providence spared President Trump’s life that day.  I agreed with my friend’s assertion.  But, as I said to the person I reference, there was yet another truth at work apart from the truth that President Trump’s life had been miraculously spared, and spared by a fraction of a fraction of a second.

What was the other truth at work, you ask?  It was/is that every one of us has an appointed time to pass from this life to death to life eternal.  We read in Job 14:5: “Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass.” (KJV)

Job is making the point that I have just brought to bear, i.e., consideration of the shortness of a man’s life.  Our days are determined; they’re limited to a specific period, known to and fixed beforehand by God.  Our days are not like God’s days, which endure throughout all generations.

The Psalmist writes in Psalm 102:24I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days… (KJV)  In other words: Oh my God, please do not take me before it is my determined time.  Please let me live my full life.

Returning to my original point; not only did we see God spare President Trump, but we are also witnesses to the unalterable truth of His words in the Holy Bible.  We cannot observe, i.e., acknowledge one without the other.  Yes, President Trump was spared, but we must not overlook the assurance of God’s holy scriptures.

Let us rejoice my friends, because God holds the way/path of the righteous in His hands.  Not one moment in the life of those who have been born again through faith in Christ Jesus happens by chance or happenstance and that includes our death.  This is why it is important to accept Christ as our Savior while there is time, because we cannot do it after we die.

Luke 12:1-7 (KJV)

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
