‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

What's Michelle Obama Got To Be Bitter About?

March 8, 2013

I recently was a guest on the Thomas Hayes-Morrison Show, hosted by Thomas Morrison. Thomas is informed and is the kind of host whose show persons such as myself enjoy, indeed look forward to appearing on, because he is straightforward, knowledgeable, well-versed in the subject matter being discussed, and he doesn’t engage in “gotcha” interviews.

One of the first questions I was asked at the beginning of the program had to do with how I came to have the values and opinions that I do pursuant to race and issues of same.

I briefly explained that it had to do with how I was raised and even more importantly it had to do with my being a Christian. Which is the same answer I’ve given when I was interviewed on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal some time ago during one of my appearances on that program.

I explained that I had never held animus and resentment toward any group of people much less a group of people based on color of skin. I wasn’t raised that way.

Which brings me to my point. Years ago, (fall 2002 I believe), I was guest hosting on a popular radio talk show. On that occasion, one of my guests was my dear friend and colleague Alveda King, niece of the late Dr. Martin Luther King.

As we were concluding our segment, I asked Alveda something to the effect of how is it that she harbors no hatred and ill-will for white people, especially southern whites, after what her father and Uncle Martin had happen to them. Alveda’s father was Martin’s brother and both had been murdered.

I have never forgotten her response to me. She said, “Oh Mychal, don’t you know that I’ve got Jesus?” She went on to explain what God had done for her and how God’s love and grace for her, and His forgiveness of her sins, made it possible for her to love and forgive others. Ergo, her life was not burdened by hatred and rage.

TSDCBanner212x487My friends, Alveda summed it up in a nutshell. If we are in Christ and Christ is in us then we know, and the Spirit of God bears witness in us that our sins are forgiven, and as Jesus Himself said, and I paraphrase, that of whom much is forgiven we have a template of how to forgive. (See: Luke 7:47)

Rev. Paul Tillich said it best in his sermon The New Being: “Forgiveness is unconditional or it is not forgiveness at all. Forgiveness has the character of ‘in spite of,’ but righteous ones gives it the character of ‘because.’ The sinners, however, cannot do this. They cannot transform the divine ‘in spite of’ into a human ‘because.'”

While I unapologetically oppose certain social issues she supports Dr. Condoleezza Rice is another example of a person who by the grace of God has not become bitter and filled with hatred because of the atrocities committed by ignorant and evil people.

But, consider Michelle Obama who has never suffered the pain and the loss that my dear friend and sister in the Lord Alveda has or that which Dr. Rice has. Yet the Obama woman is filled with hatred and resentment even to the point of turning on her black classmates at Princeton because in her opinion they were too friendly with white students.

She and her husband attended a church led by a rabid race-monger and preacher of racial hatred for over two decades. She has embraced Louis Farrakhan’s wife who is also an unconscionable race-monger.

Thus, for those who are not afraid to look and see the truth we know that regardless of what the Obama woman and her husband say the witness of the Spirit is not in them.

Michelle Obama tries to put on a facade of propriety, but her raw racial hatred and partisanism is a matter of public record even before her time at Princeton. She is condemned by her own words in her Princeton thesis. Her racial demagoguery is a matter of record as are her racial demands while she was at Harvard.

In her and her husband you have two people who have taken advantage of, to their extreme personal benefit, the absolute best that America has to offer, and she not only makes no pretense of her hatred for America, but she has practiced and preached racial discord at every opportunity.

America is better than the Obamas. And it is important to note that everyone who embraces hatred suffers from it. It is out of that internal misery that they attempt to purge themselves by transferring their hatred as the fault of others.
