‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

When Will 'We The People' Realize It's Us Not Them

July 11, 2013

My friend and I were discussing Obama over lunch recently. If you are thinking that it must be difficult to retain that which we were ingesting while discussing him, you are correct. That said, we persevered.

During our conversation, my friend, who is anything but a political neophyte, expressed what so many are feeling when they lament, “Obama is doing whatever he wants to do because he knows he can get away with it.” To which I replied, “Obama is doing whatever he wants to do because he thinks he is getting away with it.”

Obama is evil to his core, and it matters not one iota to me those who would castigate me for daring to say what is absolutely true. Which brings me to a point I have made before. It was said of Mr. Nixon that he was clever, and the problem with clever people is that they don’t know when to stop being clever. But there is another axiom that is applicable, and it is “the classic smart person’s mistake is they think they’re smarter than everyone else.” Personally, I think the maxim applied to Mr. Nixon is the most applicable.

Obama is, as my mother used to say, “Showing his a-s-s.” (My mother would spell a curse word, not speak it.) He has reached the point of being able to, as he thinks, get away with so much, that he believes himself to be more clever than others. And because of this he continues to push the boundaries.

But it is no less a factuality that sooner or later being clever catches up with you. It is also true that just because it appears that you are getting away with something it doesn’t mean you are (a fact that some people never grasp, but I digress).

For Obama to get away with what he has done and is doing, it would mean that we are unaware of his actions. But we are aware of same, and the increasing cacophony of condemnation proves it. Smarter and more clever persons than Obama, and certainly more influential persons, have suffered their comeuppance.

The problem is not Obama nor those who are committed to him. The problem is not the feckless, duplicitous congress. The problem is We the People. We cry and wring our hands saying the sky is falling, but we: a) do nothing to make a real difference and b) we do the same things over and over and over again expecting a different outcome — which is the true definition of insanity.

We the People are star struck by politically adulterous individuals and nefarious mobocrats. Some years ago I wrote a syndicated piece and later referenced same in a speech taking then RNC chairman Ed Gillespie to task for saying he understood that Christian conservatives wouldn’t like Rudy Giuliani, but we would support him when we understood that if we didn’t Hillary would win. Ultimately it wasn’t necessary to make that non-choice.

But specific to my indictment of We the People, earlier this week Rudy Giuliani was guest hosting for Hannity. To be fair, I do not like either one of them and neither does my friend, but for some inexplicable reason they had it on the radio. A woman caller gushed over how much she loved Giuliani and said that she had voted for him, yadda-yadda.

I turned to my friend and said that I would bet dollars to donuts that earlier in the day the same woman was opining about worthless Republicans, how much she was worrying about the country, and that she was praying for same. My point is that the woman represented those I make above. Giuliani is pro-homosexuality, pro-homosexual marriage, pro-abortion, anti-Second Amendment, pro-big government. And he believes government is there to provide for the people. You tell me how those positions differ from Hillary’s. He is Hillary with thinner ankles.

But there the caller was, giggling all over herself because she was talking to Giuliani. People like her remind me of women (or men) who would rather associate themselves with ignorant, poorly bred, abusive mates juxtaposed to those individuals who would treat them with respect.

It is here worth repeating that in the 2012 elections, 94 percent of congressional incumbents were re-elected to a congress which had a nine percent approval rating. Those same people are today wringing their hands telling all who will listen that we are doomed.

I don’t believe we are doomed. I do believe people are void of understanding and motivated into repeating the same mistakes out of unreasoned fear. It is time for us to stop groveling and personally take back our country.

We hold the power — but as long as we are willing to support a party that is as left-leaning as Democrats without holding them accountable they have no impetus to change.
