Who Do You Trust by RoseAnn Salanitri
There are many who trust that science has produced evidence that challenges the biblical creation account. Is this trust in science misplaced? Let’s forget about theological positions and examine the facts, as any good scientific analysis should do.
Historically, many believed that the world was flat. That was the “science” of their day – the facts that they trusted. However, in the Old Testament, Isaiah said:
“It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth…”( KJV).In Copernicus’ and Galileo’s time, the church and the science believed everything orbited around the earth.
In the past doctors believed in bleeding those who were sick.
In Einstein’s day, most scientists believed that we lived in a static universe, meaning it was the same in their day as it always had been.
Darwin believed that if his theory were correct, then an innumerable amount of transitional fossils would be found – not just for man but for every creature that lives. Over 150 years later, none have been found and those that were thought to have been found have proven to be hoaxes or just plain wrong.
With the advent of Darwinism, evolutionists believed that the size of mankind’s brain was an indication of evolution. In other words, the larger the cranium, the more evolved the creature would be. The discovery of Neanderthals with craniums larger than modern day men forced them to reassess their theory to bipedalism – walking on two feet rather what was termed a “knuckle walker.” To this day, no such legitimate transitional fossil has be found – despite the anthropological charts we have all seen that start with knuckle-walkers and progress through various stages of uprightness. These are nothing more than artistic renditions devoid of facts.
Again, based on Darwinism, scientists believed that all life evolved from a single cell – until the discovery of how complex a single cell is. .
The erroneous hypotheses that parade as theories go on and one, i.e. the Hopeful Monster Theory, Punctuated Equilibrium, etc., etc., etc.
So, when people tell me “the Bible isn’t a science book,” I always respond “Amen!” Of course that may startle them but the truth is that science is always changing but the Bible remains the same yesterday, today, and as it will be tomorrow.
The unreliability of science is only half of the issue. Just because science may not be trustworthy, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the Bible is trustworthy. The fulfillment of prophecies makes a strong case in and of itself, but for this writing I will concentrate on some of the science in the Bible.
I’ll begin with the Big Bang theory that has been hijacked by evolutionists. However, it more clearly confirms the biblical ascertation that God did and continues to stretch out (expand) the universe. When Hubble observed unequivocally that the cosmos is expanding it, his observations destroyed Einstein’s belief that the universe was static – in other words, Einstein and his contemporaries believed that the universe is the same today as it always had been. However, Hubble’s discovery refuted the idea of a static universe by observing that the universe was expanding in every direction. This observation led to the Big Bang theory, which isn’t about a “bang” of any kind, but is about expansion. The most important thing to be noted here is that there are 17 verses in the Bible that tell us God stretched out (expanded) the heavens (the cosmos) and is continuing to stretch out the cosmos.
In Genesis God told us that everything will reproduce after its own kind. Today we have labeled this ascertation as the genetic code (DNA, RNA, etc.)
Plate tectonics was a theory that gained credibility in 1966 through 1977. Based on data collected from the oceans’ floors, the separation of the earth’s land masses could be documented. However, we learn in Genesis that God created one land mass (a/k/a Pangaea), which separated at the time of Peleg, after the Flood. Keep in mind that it is believed that Moses wrote Genesis approximately 3600-3800 years ago. At that time, he had no idea at all that a large land mass separated into different continents, and yet the Bible told us about it millennia before science had a clue.
Job talked about the springs of the sea, which were discovered in 1977 AD. He also talked about the recesses of the sea that were first discovered in 1873.
These citings are not meant to be a comprehensive list. In order to do that I would have to list all the many prophecies in the Bible that have come true and are continuing to come true in our day. It is estimated that there are nearly 300 prophecies about the life of Christ in the Old Testament that came true during His lifetime – including the town where He would be born as how much money he would be betrayed for.
Now I ask you to consider the historical and undisputed fallacies regarded as indisputable science and the veracity of the biblical scientific statements before deciding which you trust. In my not so humble opinion, those evolutionists who profess to be wise are only wise in their own eyes, which according to the Bible (which I trust), makes them fools.
