Biblical Truth Is The New Hate Speech by Robert Socha
Make no mistake; Democrat rule is diligently working to make Christian thought and speech illegal and prosecutable. “Hate Speech” has been a term invading the public conscience for decades, and it is beginning to be encoded into law to make traditional and biblically moral positions illegal to promote and declare. The worst part of this divisive and targeted persecution is its arbitrary definitions. With such a broad interpretation, the enforcement of such litigation will be at the whim of a prosecutor and a judge.
Take, for example, the horrific piece of legislation the Michigan House passed on June 20, 2023. HR 4474 amends the state’s 1988 Ethnic Intimidation Act and changes the language from intimidation to Hate Crime. If convicted, the accused would become a felon and face $5,000 in fines and up to five years in prison!
Here is the list of perceived characteristics protected from “hate” by this legislation: Race or color, Religion, Sex, Sexual orientation, Gender identity or expression, Physical or mental disability, Age, Ethnicity, and National origin.
What happens when Religion conflicts with sexual orientation or gender identity, or both? The document concludes that intimidation does not include constitutionally protected activity. I am concerned that the language is so broad it provides an aggressive prosecutor with the means to go after a man like me who would not indulge in a person’s sexual confusion. For example, if a girl came up to me and told me she is a boy, I would refute her with the truth that her chromosomes contain xs only, and her ovaries confirm that she is female.
If she felt terrorized or threatened by my declaration of an indisputable truth based on the cellular composition of her body, she could sue. And, God forbid she is 17 or younger because the punishment is more severe in that case.
The legislation also creates more severe penalties if the accused happens to be armed when they make offensive statements. A disarmed populace is much easier to control.
The street preacher arrested two weeks ago for confronting a Gay Pride event by holding a sign stating, “Sin no more,” and saying, “God is not the author of confusion” has been released. But Christians, make no mistake, these arrests will become more frequent and severe.
My state representative has no reason to think the Democrat controlled senate will not move it forward, and our Democrat governor will sign it into law. These progressive acts of legislation are anathema to the foundational principles of free speech. And a land whose speech is not free has fallen into the hands of tyranny.
My position is to continue confronting behavior incongruous with nature and nature’s God. I hope that should I or anyone willing to speak biblical truths that defy gender dysphoria and sexual deviancy require legal representation, a lawyer willing to oppose these insidious acts will be available so we can continue this battle for true Liberty in Christ’s arms.
