America is Heading In The Wrong Direction
As I was reading in the scriptures this morning, Psalm 33:12 jumped out at me. The Psalmist wrote “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” (KJV) Therein you have it, I thought.
There was a time that ours was a blessed nation and that God was indeed our Lord. Non-essential stores and businesses were closed on Sundays. Ergo, people had time for church and family. There was a time that television westerns to sit-coms to family programming had as its central theme, a standard of morality based on Judeo-Christian principles. There was a time that families provided for themselves, euthanasia of the elderly was unheard of, crime rates outside of Chicago, New York, and New Jersey, were low, and despite what Planned Parenthood would have us believe women weren’t lining up in back allies to impale their unborn children on coat-hangers.
The United States of America meant something, we were proud to be Americans. “Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness” – truth, justice, and freedom, were key components to our way of life. For the most part, government understood it’s role and stayed out of matters that concerned the state. But, there is a reason man was expelled from the Garden of Eden, and that same willing disobedience has haunted man ever since.
So it has been with America. The greatest nation in the world, perhaps even in history, has reached a point that we’ve come to trust in men to the near complete abandonment of trusting in God. We have become a nation that celebrates the coarsest form of debauchery – and pagan ritualisms such as the government sanctioned murder of 50 million children. Schools are cesspools for the breeding of diseased minds, respect for personal property and property rights have been trumped by out of control government intrusion, and God is acceptable in the public square only if He is the prefix for profanity.
Pastors have stopped preaching Jesus and embraced those things that would have been unthinkable on any level not so very long ago. And even more egregious, these things have become so pervasive, that current generations have lost all understanding of from whence America has come. And now we stand on the precipice of collapse.

America is facing collapse of not only our historic traditions, but of our financial institutions, the public educational system, our military, and every institution we can point to. Our healthcare system was the finest in the history of the world – but thanks to the corrupt and baneful logic of the Communist inspired, complicit with those who embrace the idea of something for nothing (or at the very least something that which someone else pays for), we face the collapse of medicine in this country, as we have known it.
But, have we learned? I argue we have not. We hear people every day claiming to be praying for God to take back the country, but not realizing we are doing everything in our power to ensure that doesn’t happen. We cannot continue to re-elect those who brought us to this level of destruction, just as we cannot continue to elect those like them. Religion in this country has come to mean anything but Christ, and individual responsibility has been exchanged for that which is convenient.
The Psalmist was right, and the fact that the further we remove ourselves from God, the further we remove America from God. The end result of these actions assures us a place on the ash heap of history and we won’t be the first great nation to end up there for the same reasons. We’ll simply be the greatest to end up there.
