Are you called by God—and if so, for what purpose? by ‘Brother Bill’
Called, Chosen, and Created for God’s Purpose.
This truth was powerful for me, and it begins with understanding how God calls. Seems both my faults and talents were both designed by God. What a sense of humor he must have. Can you imagine Our creator putting together your strengths and weaknesses and saying ,now let’s see what the world does with this one!!!
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
‘Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?’
Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’”
— Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV)
Notice something profound: God did not directly call Isaiah by name. Isaiah overheard the voice of the Lord asking, “Who will go for Us?”
God’s call was not exclusive—it was open. The call of God is not limited to a select few; it is extended to all. Whether we hear that call depends on the condition of our hearts and the posture of our spirits. What we hear from God is shaped by our spiritual attentiveness and willingness to respond.
Jesus affirmed this truth when He said:
“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
— Matthew 22:14 (NKJV)
The “chosen” are not chosen at random. They are those who respond to the call. They are the ones who enter into relationship with God through Jesus Christ—whose spiritual ears are opened, whose hearts are transformed, and who continue to hear the Lord asking, “Who will go for Us?”
God does not force obedience. He does not compel or pressure. He never pointed at Isaiah and said, “You—go now.” Isaiah was simply in God’s presence, heard His voice, and freely responded, “Here am I! Send me.”
This is vital for every overcomer to understand: God’s call is an invitation, not coercion.
When Jesus called His disciples, He did not overwhelm them with irresistible force. He spoke simple yet powerful words to hearts that were already open:
“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
— Matthew 4:19 (NKJV)
There was no manipulation—only truth, authority, and love. Their response flowed from readiness, not pressure.
If we allow the Holy Spirit to bring us into genuine encounter with God, we too will hear what Isaiah heard. We will recognize the voice of the Lord calling—not demanding, not forcing—but inviting.
And in that place of freedom, surrender, and purpose, our response will be the same:
IF YOU HEAR GOD’S CALL ANSWER; DONT HANG UP!
“Here am I. Send me.” How about us, have we answered his call?
You will always be glad you did blessings on your great adventure with Jesus Christ.
