Beware Of Boehner's Dishonest Brochure

A colleague forwarded me a John Boehner brochure that was from the Ohio Republican Party. If we didn’t know what a miserable and feckless representative Boehner truly is we might be swayed to believe the myths the brochure advances. But, we do know what John Boehner is, and therein should be his dilemma. I say “should be” because, unfortunately, despite all of the evidence to the contrary there will be those who are willing to support him.

The brochure claims: “John Boehner grew up in a big family, where he quickly learned the value of a dollar. Through the years, he has remained true to his conservative principles and his blue collar roots.”

Even allowing there is a modicum of truth pursuant to his “quickly learning the value of a dollar,” he apparently forgot that lesson as soon as he was elected. And there is empirical indication that is true since he and Obama have become best friends and golfing buddies.

Boehner has repeatedly agreed (read: caved) without conditions to the most onerous financial nightmares in the history of the position of Speaker of the House. At least for Republican Speakers. He has given Obama increased debt ceilings, and, after a lot of pointless pontificating and television face-time, he agreed to one of the worst deals in Republican leadership history when he once again caved to Obama’s Payroll Tax.

And as for his blue collar roots — it’s my opinion that they are further from his mind than a distant memory as he plays the most prestigious golf courses with his buddy Obama and enjoys expensive libations. And, I’m reasonably certain that many true conservatives would like to know exactly where he keeps those “conservative principles” his brochure talks about.

The brochure claims that Boehner knows small business. But the Democrats in Congress along with Obama know Boehner, and, despite his usual bluff and bluster, they, like many of us, are waiting to see what creative new way Boehner uses to roll over for Obama and allow Obama to further destroy small businesses and put millions more in the unemployment lines by allowing Obama’s increased minimum-wage push to succeed.

The brochure claims: “That’s why [Boehner] is working to repeal Obamacare, eliminate excessive red tape, and keep taxes low.” Does he really believe we have been blind to his true draconian machinations? Does he think we are unaware the only reason Eric Cantor was able to almost get away with his Machiavellian attempt to deceive We the People by pretending to have legislation that opposed funding obamacare, when in reality Cantor had another that would actually fully fund obamacare, was with Boehner’s blessings?

Boehner is pro-amnesty for illegal aliens. He is pro-Obama’s vision for big government because if he weren’t he wouldn’t have spent his Speakership giving Obama everything the White House wanted.

The brochure claims that he is leading the charge to eliminate wasteful spending when the truth is Boehner is as much the reason for adding another $7 trillion to our national debt as Obama because Boehner just keeps rolling over to everything Obama wants. How does that make him “A champion of fiscal responsibility” as the brochure claims? How do Boehner’s actions translate into getting our economy back on track?

The truth is Boehner talks a good game, but when it comes time to get the job done he folds more quickly than a cheap silk shirt. John Boehner isn’t one of us: if he were he would not be attacking Tea Party people. He would not have worked behind the scenes to derail the investigations into Fast and Furious. He would not have secretly worked to make sure Eric Holder emerged unscathed during the investigation.

The truth is John Boehner is just another career political hack who is taking advantage of his position and our tax dollars. He is no more conservative than is Harry Reid. He will say whatever he and his handlers believe We the People will swallow as long as the result is that he keeps his lucrative political career.

We the People need true leadership, and John Boehner isn’t it. Let’s all join together to make sure he doesn’t get another term to waste our time, trust, and money as he buddies around behind the scenes with his pal Obama.
