Enough Is Enough – Protect My President

As a teenager when I would try to pull the wool over my late mother’s eyes, she would at times say: “Don’t think you can give me a lollipop and then call me a sucker.”  Which brings me to my point.

The attempted shooting at the White House Correspondence Dinner has left me with more questions than answers.  Some will say I’m being a conspiracy theorist, and perhaps I am.  But, it has been my experience that “conspiracy theories” are many times proven not to be theories at all, but actual facts.  Which is a point I made in my February 19, 2024 syndicated column titled: Conspiracy Theories Often Aren’t Theories.’

In my reasoning, based upon information that has been publicly released thus far, this attempt to murder President Trump and those close him, i.e., family and staff was beyond preventable.

President Trump is the leader of my/our country.  I have supported him since he announced his bid for the presidency the first time.  His safety and protection is imperative for the good of my/our country.  I expect the duties of those responsible for protecting my President, his family and his team to be carried out better than we’ve witnessed thus far.  And, I don’t apologize for saying same.  His safety and protection is personal to me.

I’ve watched the video of the shooter running past the metal detectors probably upwards of 50 times.  And, the conclusion I come to every time, is that at that checkpoint the events following were preventable.

I do not believe I’m being hyper-critical.  This is about the protection of the President of the United States.  Good grief, security at a commie book-signing event is more alert.

My observation was and remains that the security personnel were not alert for every contingency.  They were almost lackadaisical.  Excuse me, but they were there to safeguard my President, including the other attendees.

Nothing dissuades me that had they been at the level of readiness the President’s attendance demanded, the attempted killer would never have gotten past that metal detector.  The video clearly shows the security not paying attention to their surroundings and all points of ingress.  The security from that point was even worse.  The video shows one of the security persons idly walking around head down swinging his foot at something nano-seconds before the attempted killer ran by him.  The security between that person and those on the left side of the hallway approaching him from the security checkpoint were even more lax.

The attempted killer ran past them as if they were standing still chitchatting.  Oh!! Wait!!  That’s what they were doing, under the guise of breaking down the magnetometer.

Another question I have is, where did all of the bullets that were fired, and clearly missed the shooter, go?  Did they go into the walls and the doors?  How on earth did at least one of the shots they fired, that clearly missed the attempted killer, not go through at least one piece of glass?  Were the bullets controlled by GPS with a distance disabler in them that allowed them to travel only a few yards?  At least ten shots fired and they managed to completely miss the attempted killer, but hit one of their own team.

Another question I have, is why was the security so lax inside the ballroom?  No few people inside the event itself commented on casual and lax the security by those checking tickets.  I also heard some of the security inside the ballroom itself did not have weapons.

Another even more pressing question is, how did the attempted killer gain entrance into the hotel itself?  I heard from other sources that the event was sold-out a year in advance.  I cannot imagine that the hosting hotel didn’t have every room sold out after President Trump announced on March 2, 2026, that he would be in attendance.  How did this guy get a room at the last minute?  How were people allowed to congregate in the hotel lobby without scrutiny?  How were they allowed to bring bags and briefcases in and out as if they were in a train station?

According to the Dept. of Justice: “…[they] detailed Allen’s movements from his home in California, arriving in Washington at approximately 1 p.m. EDT on April 24. According to Blanche, Allen was staying in the hotel April 24 to April 26 after making a reservation April 6. He left his home near Los Angeles on April 21, traveling to Chicago and from Chicago to Washington via train, officials said.”

How did someone well known for his vile anti-President Trump vitriol on his social media sites escape scrutiny when he checked in?  Where were his weapons concealed?

The Associated Press reported April 26, 2026:

It was not immediately released when the suspect checked into the hotel. Security camera footage released by Trump to social media shortly after the incident shows the gunman running past security officers who appear to be disassembling the metal detectors. Once the president was seated in the ballroom, additional attendees were not permitted to enter the secured area, which is why they were taking them down.

“It shows that our multi-layered protection works,” Secret Service director Sean Curran said. His comments were echoed by Carroll, who said the security plan for the evening was developed by the Secret Service and “that security plan did work this evening.”

The President and First Lady were in attendance.  Those in the line of succession were in attendance.  And, nothing against Vice President Vance, but how on earth did it take 4 seconds to remove him from the dais, and it take 20 seconds to remove the President and First Lady?  From the video made public, there was an exit just a few feet from the President.  What the heck were they doing?

Look, I’m not attacking the Secret Service and the other agencies or the police.  I’m voicing serious concerns because this is my President and we need him now, more than ever.  And, let there be no doubt that I firmly believe the hand of God rests upon President Trump.

I’m tired of my President facing so many close calls that were clearly avoidable.  Enough is enough.  People were on the ground were screaming and signaling law enforcement in Butler, PA., that there was someone on the roof of a building, and security did nothing.

On his golf course at Mar-a-Lago, somehow an attempted killer, not only was poised with clear line of sight to the President but, if my memory serves me correctly President Trump didn’t decide to play golf on the course until the morning of the attempted assassination.  And yet, somehow the gunman found out in time to set up what amounted to a quasi-duck blind in preparation to assassinate my/our President.

However, if you want a conspiracy theory; why is Matthew Crooks the only attempted shooter that has been killed?  But, I digress.

I’m not buying that all of this is accidental.  Remember the day a news reporter’s boom-mic supposedly accidentally struck the President?  Suppose the thing had been laced with a poisonous substance.  Or should we forget Kim Jong Un’s brother’s murder?

How did the WHCD’s shooter escape redundant searches and sweeps?  How is it that not every single person in the Hotel at that moment had not been scanned and individually cleared with/or without their knowledge?  The President of the United States was there and there have been more threats made against him than the ones known to the public.  Suppose the shooter would have been had an explosive device?

I’m not buying any part of this narrative.  If that makes me a conspiracy theorist, then sobeit.  But, don’t tell me the pile your dog just left beside my roses is a molehill.

The men and women assigned to guard my/our President do not get this many chances to make mistakes.  I’m sorry Mr. President; I genuinely love and admire you, but enough already.  These people are not doing a good job.  And saying that they are, is like giving out participation trophies.  I do not mean to insult you, but we need you.  And We the People, myself and family included are sick of the ineptness surrounding you.
