‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Faith Doesn’t Worry, It Trusts In God – Sunday Thought For The Day

September 17, 2022

If there were ever a time to be strong and of good courage it’s today.  If there were ever a time to trust in the Lord and lean upon Him, it too is today.  But, how do you be strong, of good courage, trust in the Lord and lean on Him, if you have never really believed God beyond cursory lip service?

It’s easy to say we believe and trust God, when one believes they have the wherewithal to trust in self and/or when we believe the world’s propaganda that insists Godless men hold the answer to every need, want and desire.

How many claim to trust and believe in the Lord, but have no testimony of what God has done in their life?  As an ordained minister, I’m forced to question just how many of the people I hear claiming to be Christians trust in the Lord at all?

Trusting in the Lord means placing our faith in Him alone.  It means embracing His promises found in the bible as unbreakable pledges from our Savior and righteous God.  It means spending time reading, studying and meditating upon the Word of God.  Trusting in the Lord means we believe what God did for the saints in scripture, He will do for us.

Personally, I am convinced there’s nothing more rewarding than experiencing through faith, God answering our prayers, whether they be for health, finances, personal need(s) ad nauseum.

If a person claims to have faith, but they have no testimony of God’s working in their life, I question their having true faith.  If a person claims to have faith in God and belief in the Word of God, but speaks more about being afraid for the future, their children/grandchildren, America or whatever, then I question if they have a biblical understanding of faith.

Which brings me back to my opening paragraph.  Faith is developed and strengthened by constantly relying upon God time and time again.  Fatih is developed by having trusted God and witnessed Him work in our lives in direct answer to our prayers and even those times when He unexpectedly provides, protects and blesses.  Faith is increased by involving God in our every situation; no matter how trivial or unnecessary it may appear to others or even ourselves.

Because, as I said in my opening paragraph, there has never been a time in our lives where trusting and leaning on the Lord was more imperative.  Wickedness and godlessness is the order of the day.  The most reprobate behavior is welcomed into the churches of today.  Many who stand in pulpits are celebrated for their sexual depravity.  The so-called leaders of today are literally the worst humanity has to offer.  These evil leaders boast of promoting all that God condemns.

But, I say to you; for true born again believers, we should rejoice.  We rejoice because our God rules and the return of our Savior is eminent.  We rejoice because Hebrews 13:5-6 KJV is an immutable promise from God our Father.
