If Government Healthcare Fails Vets – It Will Fail Us
For those singing the praises of obamacare, I ask you this question: “If the federal government is unable to oversee the healthcare of our veterans who sacrificed their bodies and psychological health for their country, how can the federal government be expected to manage the healthcare of 300 plus million legal Americans and tens of millions of illegal aliens?” If the federal government, i.e., congress and president, ended up with the congressional banking scandal and the congressional post office scandal not to mention that they bankrupted medicare, medicaid, and social security, what will they do with the one-sixth of the nation’s economy that is healthcare?
Those who believe the government will take care of them, and those who believe said care will provide them with superior healthcare are fools. There is no other way to say it except bluntly. There can be no sugarcoating this truth. Obama lied, the Supreme Court validated Obama’s lie, and Congress funded his lies vis-a`-vis obamacare.
Everything that I and many others warned about obamacare has been proven true and what is yet to come can best be called emotionally devastating. Americans have become accustomed to receiving the finest healthcare in the world and they have become accustomed to receiving same instantly sans death panels and age-based care restrictions placed on treatment. But all of that has changed with obamacare.
[adsanity id=8405 align=alignleft /]The following is a firsthand account of the level of care this Vietnam veteran received at the hands of federal government treatment. The veteran patient personally shared the information detailed herein with me.The veteran suffers from complications brought on by exposure to Agent Orange. The Vietnam veteran went to two different Veteran Affairs (VA) locations on the same day and ended up with six appointments. This true America hero’s life-threatening health concerns caused by Agent Orange had necessitated life saving surgeries. But any thoughts of the veteran just walking in and receiving the care he needed can be put to rest; I was told it took 31 years of fighting before the VA even gave the veteran soldier their first appointment.
Following is the first person account in the Veteran’s own words:
MY HEART OPERATIONS CLAIM AGAINST AGENT ORANGE HAS BEEN “MISPLACED!”
The DAV representative pulled up my records…on the computer (DAV is representing me–I changed from VVA when the DAV convinced me to work with them.).
My records indicated that my Ischemic Heart Disease caused by Agent Orange claim submitted several months ago thru the DAV was MISSING in the electronic files/which included files of the Compensation and Pension Division.
The DAV rep was very embarrassed and apologetic because I signed papers and documents with them to get this going.
Keeping in mind that I had already contacted the Comp & Pen Division on previous occasions about the necessary evaluation for my additional disability compensation for the heart malady.
Also keeping in mind that the Comp & Pen Division had already sent me a letter saying I qualified under the rules and would evaluate me.
Also keeping in mind that I had previously requested to be re-evaluated on the Agent Orange List and had filled out paperwork and they conducted physicals on me right during the time the chest pains came and I was rushed to VA Emergency. The quadruple bypass was performed the next morning. Then the heart attack came 3 months later when one of the bypasses went bad and an angioplasty/2 stents completed in the bad bypass of the 4.
The DAV did HAVE me go to records division after I was under their auspices to authorize my medical records be sent to Comp & Pen as well as the Cardiology Department. So Comp & Pen had my medical records as did Cardiology.
BUT…….the DAV rep intently studied my electronic file and the file indicated that NO claim had been submitted to Comp & Pen!!!
The DAV rep and I spent considerable time re-doing the Claim Forms to be submitted AGAIN…
What is unknown at this time is whether my ORIGINAL SUBMISSION DATE will be honored or NOT. That date is important for the disability compensation to begin for the approved heart malady.
This should by no means be considered an isolated incident. It is anything but. This is one of many first person personal accounts from veterans that I have received over the years.
If this is an example of the way the federal government treats our military veterans, what makes anyone think the government will treat us any better under Obama’s government healthcare program, i.e., obamacare.[adsanity id=11817 align=alignleft /]
