It's Time To End Double Standard
Ok, I’ve had it. I’m ticked and I don’t give a rat’s tail who likes it or not, and I couldn’t care less what I’m called. It’s about time people–who are thinking exactly what I’m about to say–stop wringing their hands and whining, and step up to the plate while we still can. What am I talking about? I’m glad you asked.
I’m talking about the duplicitous, harmful, double standards for black thuggery. I’m talking about the media and politicians covering up and ignoring crimes based on color. There are protected classes for everyone and everything except civility and propriety, and we have got to change this practice.
It took two weeks for The Virginia Pilot newspaper in Norfolk, VA., to report that a mob of black youths (numbering, by some accounts, near 100 persons) had attacked and beaten two of the paper’s very own employees. Reports are that the couple was on their way home from a theater show, stopped for a light, when a gang of black hoodlums attacked their vehicle. When the driver got out of the vehicle it resulted in both him and the woman with him being beaten. Miraculously the injuries were not life threatening, but that made them no less traumatic.
Rather than report the incident accurately with journalistic integrity, The Virginia Pilot chose instead to ignore it for two weeks. The police reported the mob attack as a simple assault, and it has been reported that the police did not even take names of witnesses. Someone tweeted that they didn’t feel bad for the “white” man who was beaten, they indicated laughter and tweeted “do it for Trayvon.” So is that the memorial that Martin’s family and friends want for him? Is this the peaceful handling of things that Martin’s mother has called for or is it the “assault white people in Trayvon’s memory” that the New Black Panther Party has promoted?”
Here’s the real problem, and the source of my outrage: The media, et al, will only get involved if the assault is politically correct enough. If blacks are walking around so angry that they are unable to control themselves and are at any moment on the verge of brutally assaulting others, then, I say put those so inclined on a reservation, build a fence around them and name it Thug Town. Appoint indicted, former Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, as mayor and make Malik Zulu Shabazz, of the New Black Panther Party, the police commissioner.
My sardonic humor notwithstanding, America cannot be the inclusive and cohesive nation it is capable of being when the media and government engage in a color-coded, politically correct system of law enforcement. Those of us who support civility and propriety must stand up and demand an end to the morally opprobrious double standard.
By not standing up, we are encouraging supremacist groups to organize and recruit. And we are giving license to malicious and malevolent blacks to engage in violent behavior, for whatever reasons they choose, if for any reason at all. We must end this. We cannot wait for the media or politicians. Obama hasn’t said a word about this incident. He hasn’t said these thugs look like his children. Holder isn’t sending Justice Department teams to investigate. Is it Obama and Holder’s opinion that white people do not have civil rights?
We must demand that politicians understand we take their silence and politically correct, duplicitous, double standards as an abdication of their Constitutional responsibility to uphold justice and liberty for all. We should flood The Virginia Pilot with tens of thousands of letters demanding they fire the editors responsible for not reporting this incident. We should flood both the police department and District Attorney’s Office demanding investigations into why this assault was handled as it was. We should flood the offices of the State Representatives and Congressional Representatives demanding to know why they are silent on this.
In another week or so, I will be making a special announcement, but for now suffice it to say, that I am tired of color-coded double standards that give license to black thuggery. I’m tired of a complicit and compliant media that, in most instances, refuses to acknowledge the color of a perpetrator if they are black and have assaulted a white person.
When even Jesse Jackson says he is relieved when he turns around and sees it is a white person who is walking up behind him, when he is on the street alone at night–it’s time for us to address things. I’ve had it, and if you are as outraged and tired as I am of criminal perpetrators being reported differently and treated differently–based on political correctness–then it is time for you to join me in making our voices heard. If we do not make our voices heard nothing will change, because they will have no incentive for change. It is up to those who share my feelings, and who understand why it is the right thing to do, to lock hands and take a stand.
