Thoughts From My Garden by Robert Socha

After an intense rainstorm softened the land, I decided to go to my garden and pull weeds while listening to the Psalms. It reminds me that it is easier to maintain my discipline and integrity if I remain watered in the Word of God. The following verse prompted solemn prayer and reflection:
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
With this in mind, I hope listing a few scriptures that have given me strength, hope, and peace through the most trying times inspires confidence and trust in the Lord. (Note: All verses are from the ESV Bible)
- “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
- “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
- “I have spoken these things to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
- “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.” Matthew 24:6
- “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phillippians 4:7
- “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
- “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
- “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:14-19
May the peace of God fill your hearts with joy and confidence as we continue to walk this earth for such a time as this! With hope!
