Where Are The Lawyers?
If in fact a tsunami of voter fraud has taken place on the extraordinary scale some are advancing as fact, we should be asking where is the empirical evidence of same and where are the Republican lawyers, the Republican leadership of Rove, Preibus, Boehner, and McConnell? If there factually were voter turnouts well in excess of 100 percent in Pennsylvania and Maryland, why aren’t the Romney lawyers and the GOP leadership taking legal steps to investigate same?
Ask yourself who in Republican leadership is speaking out about election fraud even on a tangential level compared to that of those individuals and groups advancing same. Ask yourself why that is.
Pay attention: I’m not saying that there wasn’t voter fraud. I’m asking why the ones we would reasonably expect to be combing over the results with an armada of lawyers are silent?
There can only be so many reasons for silence if in fact voter fraud has taken place on the massive scale that is being advanced. And the two main ones are that A) there is silence because the pandemic of fraud alleged never happened and B) the Romney campaign and the Republican leadership have no interest in holding legal elections.
If fraud has taken place on a level great enough to swing the election to Romney wouldn’t he and the GOP want to know that? Wouldn’t it be worth their while to investigate same? It’s hard to imagine that the answer is “B” because that would effectively mean Romney and the GOP leadership have no interest in winning an election that would result in their assuming the mantle of power. If the answer is “A” then where are the reports circulating in cyber space being culled from?
Ask yourself who in Republican leadership is speaking out about election fraud even on a tangential level compared to that of those individuals and groups advancing same. Ask yourself why that is.
It was one thing for politicians not to want to get involved in the birther issue. Whether one agrees or not with their silence on that subject — what scenario can you point to that would make them maintain their silence if their securing the crown jewel of politics hung in the balance?
Thus we are left with option “A” or “B” referenced above. The question that should be in the front of our minds is why is it necessary for us to force the people who stand to benefit the most if massive voter fraud can be proven, that they should become proactive? Why would Romney need us to convince him that voter fraud stole the election from him?
Some will vehemently disagree with what I am about to say, sobeit. I submit we cannot afford to run about in an apoplectic frenzy screaming he stole the election for the next four years. We must be focused on vetting candidates and preparing for the 2014 elections. We must be focused on not making it easy for Boehner and the Republican leadership to roll over for Obama.
It’s a foregone conclusion that fraud on some level took place. It always does. But this isn’t Nixon vs. Kennedy. The zeitgeist of today is different. If voter fraud was substantial enough to cost Romney the election and the Republican leadership isn’t interested in addressing same that should convince us that it is a waste of time, money, and energy to try. It should convince us that what we need to be focused on is replacing the failed, vapid, and feckless leadership whose interests lie elsewhere from ours. If Republican leadership believes no substantial fraud took place why spend time trying to convince them that it did?
We cannot afford to invest in that which has a miniscule return on our investment of effort. You may disagree, but wasting energy trying to convince Romney and Republicans that they were cheated is an investment that will only help is Obama. It will amount to nothing short of a dysfunctional and poorly organized effort in futility.
Our energy must be invested in pressuring Congress to begin impeachment proceedings. We must not allow Boehner and company to continue to betray us. We must remember that we had the greatest landslide victory in decades in 2010, and we must remember how it was done.
Obamacare can still be stopped, but it will take our being victorious in 2014 to make that happen. We cannot afford to be distracted by something the leadership is going to do nothing about.
Certain groups will advance the idea that massive voter fraud took place that resulted in Obama stealing the election. But if the GOP leadership and the Romney campaign are unwilling to enjoin us how is that a wise use of our investment?
We must be wise and we must be focused. If we are not, four years from now Obama will have gotten everything he wants and the people will be raking hay and looking for ointment to soothe their wounds.
