‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Ferguson: The Media’s Problem Is That We All Don’t Think Alike by Bob Parks

August 25, 2014

The ongoing media frenzy over the Ferguson shooting has many of us collectively shaking our heads, as the visuals suggest all black people have been whipped-up into a torch and pitchfork mob, calling for the stringing up of a murderous cop who killed an innocent black youth.

Many of us are apparently in the true minority as we watch young blacks taking to the streets, at all hours of the night, to participate in protests and/or civil disobedience: an activity most responsible parents would not allow. But it’s clear, the liberal media don’t consider blacks responsible while they justify and explain away the criminal behavior in ways that would never be tolerated in their suburban, gated communities.

Angry crowds and the cover of night is just not a good mix. Is protesting at night more forceful and compelling than protesting during the day?
Christopher Arps, Move-On-Up.org

The live video coverage paints a picture of black people who can’t piece two sentences together properly and have to sit in order to not have to keep pulling up their pants as to not show their exposed underwear. In other words, broadcast almost every negative stereotype they frown upon… except when they show it.

It is long past time to speak the truth. The blacks rioting and looting in Ferguson, Missouri are not oppressed, frustrated people. They are a pernicious and hardly secretive camorra. The rioters and looters didn’t steal food, or medicine for sick children; they stole televisions, clothing, DVDs, CDs, jewelry, cigarettes, and the like. There exists no acceptable excuse for their behavior. Ergo there remains only the truth. They are an ungodly, stiff-necked lot given over to rage and evil behavior.

Suppose the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) went on a murderous rampage burning and destroying cities every time blacks murdered, raped, or viciously assaulted an innocent white person. Speaking of the KKK, I say it is time for blacks to be treated as the KKK have been, i.e., let rioters, their families, and those who support/encourage their malevolent and destructive behavior be held financially responsible for the damage they inflict.
Mychal Massie, former chairman of the National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives: Project 21

It’s quite painful to also watch the talking head shows selectively choose guests who supposedly speak for all of us, and when they do include a differing opinion, that person is usually outnumbered and drowned out as an irrelevant, out-of-touch joke. And heaven forbid any mention of the reality on the ground (that fateful day) be said in public.

Where was the picture from the surveillance video of the 6’4”, 290 pound thuggish Brown grabbing the store clerk by the throat after stealing cigars? The DOJ has advised news outlets not to broadcast the video of Brown assaulting the store clerk and robbing the store, claiming that it might incite violence. Okay, so allow me to make sure I understand the DOJ’s logic. Rather than exposing the true character of Brown, promoting the lie that a white police officer shot a studious innocent black youth who was simply minding his own business will not spark violence? Absurd.
Lloyd Marcus, Chairman, Conservative Campaign Committee

Of course, we all sympathize with Michael Brown’s parents and their loss, but let’s tell it like it is, as uncomfortable as it may be.

What were they doing that night? In fact, any time you hear about a young black male being gunned down in the street at night the question should rightfully be asked, “Where were the parents?” They can scream and holler all they want at whomever took their child’s life, but it can also be argued that the child would still be alive had the parent in the equation did the responsible thing and insist that kid stay off the street (doing God-knows-what) after that reasonable hour has passed.

And of course, what HAVEN’T we heard much of in this whole Ferguson discussion: the politics of it all.

The mostly all-black St. Louis suburb is surely one of those Democrat paradises we hear so much about. The great schools, safe streets, glut of jobs and opportunity, etc.

Let’s not tell the First Lady that blacks in Ferguson, by their looting and vandalism of local businesses, are creating one seriously big “food desert”. Then again, Eric Holder can later turn around and federally prosecute any looted business that attempts to leave for civil rights violations. You know, misery loves company.

The reality is Democrats, mostly black Democrats, are in control of almost ever major urban area where blacks reside. The reality is the schools suck, obviously because of a lack of political will as well as parental involvement. You know, the kind that should authoritatively counter the whole being educated-is-acting-white bullshit. It would appear everyone, except the kind of blacks portrayed in Ferguson, knows that a lack of education is a ticket to nowhere, and nowhere in the black community usually ends in government dependence, prison, or death in the street.

Would I be “acting white” if I asked why in God’s name are black people looting and destroying their own neighborhood in St. Louis? Would I be a sell-out if I asked why stealing all the tennis shoes from a sporting goods store would make a point for justice for a young man who was killed allegedly by a cop?

Would I be an “Uncle Tom” if I asked why burning a gas station, breaking into at least one convenience store, including a check-cashing store, a boutique, a small grocery store, a sporting goods store, a cellphone retailer, a tire store and a Wal-Mart would make things better? Would I be behaving stupidly when I told you that between 20 to 25 Walmart employees took shelter inside their store Sunday night as rioting and looting ran rampant in the area around them?

Would it be wrong to ask why people carted away goods from several of the stores, even as police moved in? These are stores located in this area — often at their own peril. These proprietors — small business owners — often live in the area or darn near close to it. Neighbors stealing from neighbors… shamelessly destroying their neighbor’s property as though they were released from bondage in order to pillage and plunder.
Angela Graham-West

But that’s somewhere neither Melissa Harris-Perry, Don Lemon, Jesse Jackson, or Al Sharpton will go, and the white liberal anchors on-scene haven’t even thought of approaching.

And speaking of the soft-bigotry-of-low-expectations blacks pushing the all-blacks-are-victims social justice cry, there are some inconvenient, dirty laundry truths that will not be parroted by all….

Jesse Jackson can’t demand more black cops knowing that black liberals hate cops and teach kids to hate cops. Michael Brown’s death is tragic from a human perspective but was no MLK. This situation is waiting in every city in America as liberal policies have made it so. Obama avoided Ferguson because he knew ignorant black folks would not have listened to him. Jay Nixon proved he’s a typical Dem as he “colorized” the issue appointing an HNIC… that’s not Hockey Night In Canada.
Kevin Jackson, The Black Sphere

Most of us demand blacks hold themselves to a higher standard; a standard the involves being educated, obeying the law, being respectful of self and others, and we all know what we’re called because of that, and yet we continue on because we 1. don’t care what we’re called, and 2. because, unlike our liberal counterparts, we believe blacks CAN achieve.

But what we’re witnessing, thanks to the media coverage, is a prime example of what goes on politically every day: the intentional smearing of the other side, but not without assistance.

People just aren’t thinking rationally in this Ferguson case. How much sense does it make to do a rushed investigation, (possibly) indict and arrest the officer and then have him acquitted at trial a year later because it was a rushed and shoddy investigation. And then folks will be crying that black people can’t get justice in America! This not an ordinary case of one person shooting an unarmed man. This is a police officer who is given a reasonable assumption under the law to use his weapon if he thinks he needs to. Let the investigation play out. Rushing this will not get “justice” for Michael Brown.
Christopher Arps

How many times have we seen videos where an interviewer asks a question to people in the street, and they are almost always portrayed in a negative light? When I produced such videos and an opposing response was given, I left it in the edit. You know, fairness, thus credibility.

In the case of what’s going on down at the street level, I’ve yet to see ONE black person interviewed that gave an opposing point of view on national television. Some blacks have decried the criminality going on, but for some strange reason, they always end up going back to wanting “justice for Michael Brown” instead of just wanting to get at the truth.

The media is purposely portraying all blacks of one mind, which is not only disingenuous but dangerous. I certainly don’t want to be perceived as an Obama voter just because I’m black as much as I don’t want to be thought of as a potential cop-attacking looter when I walk down the street, but that’s the template the media has deployed.

The outcries of “they’re out to get us” in the aftermath of the Brown shooting, is at best incoherent hyperbole, if not outright chthonic idiocy, when you consider that approximately 8,000 blacks are murdered by other blacks every year. But the intellectually dishonest black intelligentsia would rather dismiss that troubling factoid.
Mychal Massie

As long as blacks allow themselves to be portrayed as victims, as long as liberals continue to portray bad black behavior as justified, and as long as black parents don’t rein in their children and keep them off the streets at all hours of the night, there will be more Fergusons and unfortunately, that appears to be what Democrats and their media want.[adsanity id=11817 align=alignleft /] **********************
