President Trump Was Reaganesque, Democrats Were Disgraceful
Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said: “[President Trump’s] first two years in office delivered historic results to the American people, including nearly five million new jobs, a once-in-a-generation tax cut, and an overhaul of the criminal justice system. As President Trump continues to honor his promises and fights to keep America safe, Congress must join him in choosing greatness for our country. In the years ahead, Democrats and Republicans should unite behind President Trump’s vision to lift up all Americans and create a stronger America.”
It was against this backdrop that I like many received the following from Democrat Party Chairman Tom Perez. Perez opined: “After attending Trump’s State of The Union tonight, I know this for certain: The only way that we will be able to stop his outrageous, divisive agenda is by taking back the Senate and putting a Democrat in the White House in 2020. … I am going ot fight like hell to make sure we’re building the infrastructure necessary to continue to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in months and years ahead.”
This is emblematic of just how out of touch these people really are. Just what is it that Perez and his demon horde are finding so objectionable? Do they suffer a phobia or resentment of a booming economy not of their making?
The years that Jimmy Carter and Obama were in office were three of the historically worse economically depressing terms of any president in American history the Great Depression years notwithstanding.
Democrats can obstruct but they cannot change factual history and the point I’ve just made is irrefutable. I am also correct in saying that Bill Clinton’s time in office would have brought the American people similar suffering where it not for Newt Gingrich and his “Contract for America,” which Clinton was smart enough to let play out with his hands off same, or else that too would have ended in disaster.
The Carter years were so bad, that the “misery index” became the key economic report. The “misery index” determined how the average citizen was/is doing calculated by adding the annual inflation rate to the seasonably adjusted unemployment rate. It has been calculated since 1948, with Jimmy Carter having the highest suffering of the American people per the “misery index” in history, said being a staggering 21.98%. Under Obama it was 8.83%, which was the highest since George H.W. Bush, which was 10.68%. However two points are important to note: 1) the Bush economy was still reeling from Carter’s failure despite the economic growth under President Reagan; and 2) under Obama we had the highest permanently unemployed rate ever with some 53 million others on food stamps and welfare.
Under President Trump the “misery index” at this point, is the lowest in history at 6.46%.
Thus I repeat my question: Is this what Perez and his demon hordes are finding so objectionable? Exactly what is it that Democrats purpose to return us to?
Kevin McCarthy, Republican leader in the House said: “The President’s message to our country tonight was clear: America first leadership is returning American greatness. As President Trump looked forward, he also reflected on the last two years and the foundation from which we have been able to achieve so much. We cut taxes for hard-working Americans. We passed the most comprehensive response to combat the opioid crisis. We slashed regulations. And we reinvested in our military to make our country stronger. The President also spoke about the ongoing fight to stop human trafficking while proactively supporting the survivors of these despicable traumas. This scourge is part of the central challenge facing our nation: securing the southern border. The President reaffirmed his determination to prevent crime and drugs from flowing across the border and threatening the stability of our communities. The challenge is also a humanitarian crisis, affecting not only those who seek to enter the United States but also the American families devastated by destructive drugs and crime. We must solve this crisis. President Trump is moving our country forward and I remain committed to working with him and my colleagues in Congress to secure our borders and ensure continued prosperity through higher wages and stronger economic growth.”
What threat could these facts possibly pose for Americans, that would make the Democrat leadership openly say they are going to do all in their power to destroy President Trump and the economic boom we now enjoy?
Democrats can have their Erebusic fact-checkers, who have a history of misstating the facts under the guise of checking the facts, comb over President Trump’s speech but at the end of the day he is spot on. Good grief: Snopes, the left-wing progressive fact-checking site has misidentified my work.
The simple truth is that President Trump isn’t doing a “good job.” He’s doing a “great job” and quite probably the one of the greatest jobs in Presidential history. During the SOTU we saw what Democrats want to return America to. We saw their infantile petulance. We saw their shallow self-interest as Democrat women only showed enthusiasm when President Trump referenced the gains by women, as the gains specifically pertained to them. They sat frozen in silence at the mention of valuing the lives of unborn children. We saw their leadership virtually hiss at the mention of putting America first. So just what is it that they have to offer?
Democrat John Kerry, who’s claim to fame comes from paper cuts during feigned military service and for one of the most flawed terms as Secretary of State in history, opined: “I’m worried about the state of our democracy under Donald Trump.” That might be less of a lie from the mouth of a pernicious liar, if America were a democracy, but we are not. We are a Constitutional Republic even though progressives continue to downplay that fact.
Kerry went on to claim: “This President’s complete disregard for diplomacy has embarrassed our nation on the world stage…’he’s taking us backwards…”
That too, is a damnable lie, unless Kerry was speaking in reference to President not bending over with pants around the ankles for whatever deal best suited Iran.
On October 27, 1964, then governor Ronald Reagan gave a speech on behalf of Republican Barry Goldwater. The speech was titled: “A time For Choosing,” but in the years since it has come to be known simply as “The Speech.” Governor Reagan concluded that speech by saying:
You and I have the courage to say to our enemies, “There is a price we will not pay.” “There is a point beyond which they must not advance.” And this — this is the meaning in the phrase of Barry Goldwater’s “peace through strength.” Winston Churchill said, “The destiny of man is not measured by material computations. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we’re spirits — not animals.” And he said, “There’s something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty.”You and I have a rendezvous with destiny.
We’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.
We will keep in mind and remember that Barry Goldwater has faith in us. He has faith that you and I have the ability and the dignity and the right to make our own decisions and determine our own destiny.
President Trump concluded his State of The Union Speech: Think of this Capitol — think of this very chamber, where lawmakers before you voted to end slavery, to build the railroads and the highways, to defeat fascism, to secure civil rights, to face down an evil empire.
Here tonight, we have legislators from across this magnificent republic. You have come from the rocky shores of Maine and the volcanic peaks of Hawaii; from the snowy woods of Wisconsin and the red deserts of Arizona; from the green farms of Kentucky and the golden beaches of California. Together, we represent the most extraordinary Nation in all of history.
What will we do with this moment? How will we be remembered?
I ask the men and women of this Congress: Look at the opportunities before us! Our most thrilling achievements are still ahead. Our most exciting journeys still await. Our biggest victories are still to come. We have not yet begun to dream.
We must choose whether we are defined by our differences — or whether we dare to transcend them.
We must choose whether we will squander our inheritance — or whether we will proudly declare that we are Americans. We do the incredible. We defy the impossible. We conquer the unknown.
This is the time to re-ignite the American imagination. This is the time to search for the tallest summit, and set our sights on the brightest star. This is the time to rekindle the bonds of love and loyalty and memory that link us together as citizens, as neighbors, as patriots.
This is our future — our fate — and our choice to make. I am asking you to choose greatness.
No matter the trials we face, no matter the challenges to come, we must go forward together.
We must keep America first in our hearts. We must keep freedom alive in our souls. And we must always keep faith in America’s destiny — that one Nation, under God, must be the hope and the promise and the light and the glory among all the nations of the world!
Thank you. God Bless You, God Bless America, and good night!
Amazing, two of the greatest President’s in history shared practically identical visions for America and for us. It is important to note that America and We the People have enjoyed unparalleled prosperity under them.
But Carter and Obama, unarguably the worst two presidents in history, shared similar visions for America and for us as well. They shared visions of neo-Leninism, government control and ending fossil fuels. Specific to same, America and We the People suffered horribly under their so-called leadership.
If we value America; if we are proud to live in the greatest country on earth and to be part of the greatest nation on earth – then let us rally behind President Trump. Let us fight in whatever way possible to defend America from progressives who would send us back to the Carter-Obama years, at the time sentencing us, our children and grandchildren to a future of socialism and neo-Leninism.
