Michigan’s Crooked Way Of Counting by Robert Socha
Donald J. Trump has thus far swept the primaries. The lowest victory margin was 54.3% of the vote in New Hampshire. With 99% of the votes counted in the first five contests, he has earned 119 of 153 delegates cast, 78%, on his way to the 1,215 delegate threshold necessary to secure the nomination. All future races point to similar results.
Segue: What legitimate path to victory does his leading competitor, Nikky Haley, indeed have? None. And with endorsements from horrific Democrat governors like Gavin Newsome stating, “She’s one of our better surrogates,” even if it was sarcastic, she should withdraw immediately!
If you are unaware, Michigan’s voters amended their state’s constitution in November 2022 to allow for permanent absentee ballot voting status. This change enables voters to mail their vote or to drop off said vote in the middle of the night, or any time, at drop boxes installed in local precincts. This last one accommodates those poor souls whose demanding schedule prevents them from accessing their clerk during regular business hours or going to the post office. There is no possibility for this system to be manipulated or abused. It is wholly trustworthy and secure. (I hope you read these previous two sentences in the sarcastic tone I wrote them.)
As of this writing, 25,294 people in the great state of Michigan cast votes for Republican candidates who earned their spot on the ballot but had either dropped out of the race or are too obscure to have a realistic path to victory. I am curious if they voted to make a statement or if it was due to ignorance. Nevertheless, Trump commanded the day with over 68% of the vote, taking all 83 counties.
In my home county of Hillsdale, the unofficial results tally 8,321 of 31,075 registered voters, or 26.78%, voted on or before election day, with 100% of precincts reporting. A mere quarter of the population has determined the presidential ballot for consideration at the two parties’ national conventions!
On the other side of the aisle, the Democratic candidate who usurped the 2020 election easily prevailed yesterday with 81.1% of the vote. Notably, over 100,000 people, or 13.3%, voted uncommitted, and Wayne County, the home of Detroit, is shockingly still counting. With many communities therein heavily Arab and Muslim, the uncommitted count is undoubtedly likely to increase dramatically. May I remind you that in the 2020 election, Wayne County made many irrational and illegal decisions during the counting process, most notably blocking the view of the counting room, removing election officials because they supposedly stopped counting due to a water leak, only to resume once they cleared the room, and receiving a van full of ballots at 3 AM! Nothing to see here. I am sure Michigan’s secretary of state would have pursued any abnormalities to ensure the election’s integrity, but she did not.
Happily, I can report that President Trump received 755,909 votes in Michigan to the usurper’s 617,728, or just over 55% of the vote! Those numbers suggest a massive victory for the Grand Ole Party in November. Let us work diligently to ensure that 2024’s election provides another legitimate term for 45/47. Here’s to hope.
