Does 2020 Look Better Now? by RoseAnn Salanitri
If you wished for the end of 2020, be careful for what you wish for. As if COVID wasn’t bad enough, discerning what is true and what is false information has become a nearly impossible – yet still necessary – task. And so it is that my thoughts, concerns, and beliefs cover several subjects.
#1. January 6th:
Many questions arose in my mind as I watched the news coverage of the January 6th Capital Building exploits. Aside from all the hypocrisies of the leftists who defended the riots of last summer and condemned the infiltration of their sacred territory, visions of Capital Police ushering in protesters into the building seemed odd and questionable. Of course all the circulating photos of Antifa and Black Lives Matter characters in attendance topped my list of questionable orchestration strategies. If you read or watch media outlets other than those that are deemed to be “mainstream”, you will have your own list of hypocritical absurdities that provide a solid and reasonable basis to question the motives of the Nancy Pelosi Impeachment Bunny. Whatever your opinions on the January 6th matter may be, in true Alinsky style it is unquestionable that the Democrats intend to use this incident to their full advantage, beginning with another lap around their exhausting and well-worn Impeachment track.
#2. History:
It is said that those that don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. So are there any historical incidents that we can learn from that echo the characteristics of this current debacle?
Remember the Reichstag: In 1933, the Reichstag building that had stood as an idealistic representation of German government was burned. Although a communist took credit for the burning, his claim is still highly debated with Hitler heading the list of suspects. Regardless of whom lit the match, it is not debated that Hitler took full advantage of the event and used it as a symbol to demonize the Communists and to fuel his extremely successful power grab. This event birth the Nazi movement that suspended many of the rights of the German people, demonized the Jews, and increased a totalitarian police action throughout the nation.
Next: Remember Nero: It is often said that Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Of course we don’t know if that is actually true, but we do know that this event empowered Nero and his plans to rebuild Rome for his glory. In the process, he also managed to create fictitious enemies of the state, whom he blamed for the occurrence, none other than the Christians whom he proceeded to terrorize and persecute.
These historical occurrences serve as comparisons for how fateful incidents can be used to demonize those who are threats to the Deep State.
#3. The American prophets:
My next Rant has to do with the American prophets who all proclaimed in unison that Donald Trump would be re-elected and serve another four years. While many of us believe that Trump did indeed win the 2020 election, it is still being disputed at the time of this writing and the next four years are questionable.
Regardless of the prophets proclamations, in my eyes they have all fallen short. It is my humble belief that true prophets don’t simply tell the future. That is the job of fortunetellers. True prophets, as was Jeremiah, preach for a return to righteous living while telling of the consequences for not doing so. While our American prophets advocated for revival and repentance, they failed to boldly state that unless we repented, God would not relent from judgment. This resulted in a spirit of complacency rather than a spirit of urgent and dynamic repentance that would fill our churches to overflowing – regardless of COVID. There were a few that almost met this criteria, like Jonathan Cahn. In his first book, The Harbinger, he made a well-reasoned case for 9/11 being a harbinger of things to come. He also tirelessly shouted from the rooftops that we were given a reprieve and that we must repent and return to God. However, he failed to bring it home in Jonah- and Jeremiah- style, that if we didn’t repent, national destruction would fall upon us.
There is another similarity between the 21st century and the time of Jeremiah just before the Babylonian takeover that we should contemplating. During that time God made it clear to Jeremiah that He was angry with Israel for three reasons: 1. Because they forsook Him. In other words, they extricated Him from their culture; 2. Because of the shedding of innocent blood. Jeremiah 2:34 says: “Also on your skirts is found the blood of the lives of the poor innocents;” and 3. Because they worshipped the fruits of their own hands. Also see Haggai 1, where God brings in judgment in the form of inflation upon those that are living prosperously and complacently. In Jeremiah we are also told that God brought them (Israel) into a bountiful country, but they made His heritage an abomination (Jer. 2:7), and the next verse is truly astounding. It says that those who handle the law did not know God. There are many shaking similarities, so I encourage you to be a Berean and read the Book for yourself.
#4. The evidence:
I was a Court Reporter, and as such, I can tell you that hearing both sides of a story is necessary when trying to determine the truth. In our Cancel Culture today that is becoming increasingly more difficult. Our courts blocked Trump’s legal team from presenting their side of the story in court and presenting the evidence. As a result, many Americans mistakenly believe that the election was legal and honest. If anyone in this country is guilty of constitutional mutiny, it is the judges who refused to do their jobs and subjected all of us to unresolved suspicions. They may have claimed “no injury in fact,” but it is abundantly clear that the entire country has been injured, and that IS a fact. But it’s not the first time that a judge’s mishandling of the law has been instrumental in the miscarriage of justice. For example:
It’s OJ all over again. As a court reporter with a professional worldview, I watched every minute of the OJ Simpson hearings that were televised. Based on the evidence that was admitted in court, the jury’s verdict was correct. However, the jury was not privilege to the evidence that was being broadcast to the public. Thanks to Judge Ito’s censorship of vital evidence, OJ walked out free. Unfortunately, America may never know for sure if the 2020 election was stolen. And this travesty falls directly on the shoulders of the judges who either lacked backbone or were morally and legally negligent.
But all is not lost. The spiritual battle erupting in this country that has raised up Jezebels, on the other side has raised up Deborahs in the form of newly elected female representatives that have vowed to restore our Constitutional Republic. May God empower them and keep them safe. May He cause His face to shine upon them, and may He raise up the Spirit of 1776 in all of us.
This country may find itself in dire straits, but it is not the first time. And as in times past, may we proclaim liberty throughout the land and be willing to settle for nothing less. And may we repent of our evil ways of apathy and complacency that has allowed the slaughter of the innocents to continue while we rest comfortably in our homes. For should we truly repent in deed – not just words – then God may relent of the disasters that are about to fall upon us.
