My radar is picking something up
Maybe it’s a slow news day. Maybe there’s exhaustion from the weekend. But, when FoxNews doesn’t give substantive coverage concerning Fast and Furious until into the second hour of a news program my antenna goes up. When Solyndra doesn’t come up until 33 minutes into programming I start seeing boogies on my radar screen.
Lawmakers, investigative reporters, the Justice Department, and law enforcement agencies across the nation should be screaming for justice. Some may believe that’s what we are witnessing, but my instincts are telling me that what we are seeing from Congress, is the setting of the stage for the slipping of the noose of justice for Obama and Holder. Machiavelli said: “He who sups with the devil should have a long spoon,” which for the purposes herein discussed means, don’t simply keep your distance when dealing with corrupt people, but it’s especially important to keep your radar actively panning for the manure that will inevitably be used to obfuscate what they’re really doing.
Ten Arizona sheriffs held a news conference calling for Independent Investigation into the ATF’s Fast and Furious criminal scandal. Another sheriff has implicated ATF, Eric Holder, and the Obama Justice Department as accomplices to murder, after the illegal weapons were used to murder American border guards and at least 200 Mexicans. And while we hear lots of saber rattling by Republican Congressmen and we see resignations, demotions, and reassignments that’s not enough.
There is no way this doesn’t go as high as the White House. No one, despite what hollywood portrays, is going to initiate something like this, without someone very close to the president knowing about it and signing off on it – if not the president himself. That said, there is also Solyndra, which rests solely on Obama’s desk.
If this were the private sector we would have seen people in handcuffs doing perp walks by now. Heck, we’ve seen perp walks for much less. This not just about my contempt for Obama personally and his administration specifically – it is about justice. It’s about bringing to justice those responsible for the illegal sale of guns, murder of American law enforcement officers, the murder of Mexican civilians and law enforcement persons, the ongoing threat to American law enforcement and the willful distribution of taxpayer monies selected companies fully understood to be poor risks and/or failing, and at that, during one of the most crushing financial periods in history.
These stories should dominate the lead-in of every newscast and news program, just as Watergate, Vietnam, Iraq, and the body counts did when the media and Democrats were going after President Nixon and George Bush. This potentially will make Watergate a footnote. Colleagues and I have discussed in disgust that Republican have had unending opportunities to keep obvious issues before the people. Instead we had to watch Boehner do his circle jerk, as he searched frantically for a way to cave-in as gracefully as possible.
If the hot air expended by Republicans led by Boehner, concerning the need to fight Obamacare, could have been bottled and sold, the proceeds could have made a dent in the national debt. How much are we hearing about the repeal of Obamacare today? In the final analysis politicians are interested in gotcha politics and holding chips. It’s the way they conduct business. They may tell us one thing, but trust me, that’s the way they do business and the record since Watergate proves it on both sides of the aisle.
We cannot let people go unpunished nor can we allow a few flunkies to take the fall, while those responsible go unpunished and sign mega-book deals, receive six-figure speaking fees, and are toasted around the world.
