Consider The Following Current Events by Robert Socha

Following are some random thoughts concerning current events.
Taxations: I prefer that the federal government raise revenue through tariffs and consumption-based taxes, eliminating an income tax and its collecting agency. These United States have been taken advantage of by countries imposing high tariffs on our goods while dumping their subsidized wares on our shores for consumption without reciprocal fees. I would also like to see private property taxes eliminated, but I have not found an alternative source to fund local governments whose services have the most direct impact on the people.
Sovereignty: Maintaining our border and population’s integrity is paramount to national identity and public safety. Despite rogue judges ruling otherwise, the United States Constitution does not guarantee its protections to resident or illegal aliens.
Judiciary: Speaking of judges, a lack of decent civics education and the constant fomenting against the goodness of these United States’ pursuit of a “more perfect union” have given birth to an unrestrained judiciary whose political judgments are a leading cause of rampant crime. Criminals are not held accountable for their criminality, and the people suffer because this lack of enforcement compromises public safety.
Vagrancy: I prefer clean streets and parks where littering, loitering, camping on public property, and illegal drug use are unacceptable behaviors, and people who practice such actions are not lauded and paraded as virtuous victims, but held accountable and encouraged to work and participate in productivity without leeching from the public treasury.
DOGE: The depths of depravity and misappropriation at the federal level are alarming, and the exposure and cuts are a terrible but necessary accomplishment, although a point of consternation is I have yet to see any real adjustment to the Treasury, and no action from Congress to make the cuts permanent.
Congress: If Congress does not get its act together and diligently encode the radical changes made by the Trump administration and its appointments, then just as has happened with the last two transitions of power, when the Left regains the White House, the incoming executive will reverse the previous administration’s actions and revert to their misguided idealism ruining any hope of restraining the behemoth that is Washington, D.C.
Executive Branch: On June 8, 1789, President Washington issued what we would consider to be the first Executive Order to accelerate the transition to the new government under a constitutional republic. Although there are times when Executive Orders have necessary merit and value, their unbridled use on both sides of the aisle equates to circumventing the legislative powers vested in Congress. This weakness causes real short-term pitfalls whose repercussions echo worldwide and, as mentioned above, can be easily reversed. Additionally, a Congressional declaration of war is necessary to execute wartime powers. The military is a dangerous and mighty tool whose ripple effects can cause catastrophic long-term damage when wielded inappropriately or withdrawn prematurely. There is real evil in the world, and Congress should tackle the issue head-on with a declaration of war, thereby giving the President proper authority to act.
The Church: From the Vatican to mainline Protestant denominations and non-denominational mega-churches, the Church has largely abandoned its moral compass and integrity. Moral failures of the worst nature among Church leadership continue to plague the headlines and cast a long shadow on the efficacy of the Cross. Returning to the simplicity of the Gospel, where Grace saves you through Faith, it is a gift of God that should overflow from the pulpits as a river whose effervescent flow brings life to every area it touches. The Church should also increase its philanthropic role in addressing the needy among us, relieving the burden from the public treasury.
The People: As a professor once told me, the capacity of the human brain to memorize is beyond what any of us dare to believe because our smart devices have stolen memorization’s merit. But when you memorize something, it becomes a part of you, and when it is part of you, it is different. For this reason, David declares in Psalm 119 that he would hide God’s word in his heart so he might not sin against Him. In the shadow of Passover and the Resurrection of Christ, we should consider the Cross and its manifold blessings and continue to pursue Truth, not subjectively but sincerely, and defend Liberty from the tyranny of democracy.
