‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Olympic Style Satanic Mockery: A Missed Opportunity By Christians

Many people are aghast at the demonic spectacle that was supposed to celebrate the opening of the 2024 Olympic games in Paris.  That said, it’s time for me to be the proverbial skunk at the picnic once again.

Christians had an opportunity to stand up in the name of Jesus and make a statement for the Lord.  When those deranged, Erebusic pagans pulled their Satanic stunt, every Christian in attendance and/or affiliated should have stood up and walked out in the middle of their hellish spectacle.  Every Christian athlete, worker, fan, relative, attendant, cook and dignitary alike.  Every Christian watching at home should have changed the channel on their televisions if they were watching the decadent display.  Christians should make sure their children understand why the actions were necessary.

The message of every true born again Christian associated with the Olympics and/or watching them on television should have united their voices by way of their act of turning away from the Satanic insanity.  Christians should have proclaimed God by their actions, as Joshua did with his words: And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15 KJV)

As I wrote in my Sunday Thought for this week: I hear many people and preachers alike saying we need a revival.”  Who is to say this wasn’t God giving us another opportunity to experience the beginning of a revival?  When I say another chance, I’m speaking of the opportunity to cling to the Holy Spirit and say no to evil, dishonest, liars who appointed themselves dictators of our behavior during covid.

Our church refused to allow the progeny of Satan to tell us when and how we could worship our God.  We said no to man and yes to God, and I can tell you the hand of the Lord covered us as we continued to meet three times a week.  We said no to the phony exercises that were supposed to keep us safe.  Our church took the position that if the liquor stores, baby killing clinics, adult bookstores and houses of fornication were permitted to stay open, our church was going to be open as well.  Notwithstanding we would have stayed open even if everything else were closed.  But, I digress.

We refused to compromise.

The Paris Olympics, I believe was yet another chance to stand for God and many Christians have and are missing it.

I personally know people involved in this Olympiad.  I have family and friends who have competed in multiple Olympiads.  I’ve attended the Olympic games in years past.  I don’t want to hear the excuse that the athletes have trained all of their lives for this opportunity and they can find another way to show their disapproval.  I’m certainly glad Christ didn’t take that position when it came to the Cross.

Christians need to know their history.  Exactly 100 years ago in the 1924 Paris Olympics there was a young man who was a devout born again Christian, the son of missionaries, who later became a missionary to China.  The young Christian athlete was Eric Liddell, who would be immortalized in the movie about him and his Jewish counterpart Harold Abrahams titled: “Chariots of Fire.”

Liddell a devout Protestant Christian was excoriated and accused of betraying his country, and his teammates because he refused to compete on the Sabbath.  He stood his ground and the rest is history.  The Lord moved in a way that enabled Liddell to compete in two different track events; he won two medals in the other track events, one of them gold.  His true story of putting God first is an account we can all learn from.

I believe the 2024 Paris Olympiad was an opportunity to stand for God as Liddell did.  As I wrote on Sunday: “Revival doesn’t just happen.  It takes you and I surrendering to the work, will and leading of the Holy Spirit and a burning desire to be used in making that happen.”

I know some applauded the 16-year old female Brazilian athlete Rayssa Leal as she used sign language to proclaim: “Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, better yet” the reporter wrote: “she did not conceal her intention. The teenager waited for the camera to approach and then made sure that viewers across the world could see her message.”

I do not marginalize what she did.  But, truthfully, how many people can read sign language?  The whole world can read: “stand up and walk out!!

Such an act of respect to our God would have been a powerful testimony to Him and our faithfulness.  But, as I said before I submit Christians missed a golden opportunity.  Talk alone is cheap; however, actions speak resolve and commitment.

How many are tuned into their television sets watching the Olympics, while they complain about  the ungodly behavior of the Satanic deviants.? In the mean time the advertisers will make buckets of money from the advertising and viewer participation.

If we are truly born again believers, than it is time for you and I to stand up and let the world know we will come out from among them, because our Savior has no concord with Belial.
