Significant Effects of Trumpian Politics by Robert Socha

One of the most significant effects of Trumpian politics is the wherewithal of those on the Right to stand for their convictions and not allow leftist reporters to control the narrative by inserting their opinions into public policy debates. I have recently asserted that Congress must codify the DOGE cuts and executive orders the Trump Administration has passed into law through the legislature, or the next Democrat regime elected to the highest office will act similarly and reverse these hard-fought gains.
Scrolling through a social media feed, I came across the following image a couple of times, and it intrigued me enough to do a little research.
The problem I had with the posts and the reason I initially ignored them was that there was no link to the vote; it was simply an accusation. I proceeded to do a quick search on freespoke.com and came across the following article from the Independent Sentinel with the headline:
26 GOP Senators Voted Against Codifying DOGE Cuts
The article is replete with Senators’ quotes about the consequences of the cuts and their ultimate vote. For example, the article provides the following quote:
Sen Roger Marshall (R-Kan), who ultimately voted for the amendment, told me this afternoon it “may be the right amendment at the wrong time”
“It’ll be a tough vote for us. And certainly I’m standing behind the president and DOGE, what they’re doing 110%, I just don’t know if this is the right time to do that.”
However, no language of the proposed amendment was listed, nor was a link to the legislation or the recorded vote itself. When exactly is the right time to do something? If not now, when?
I did some more searching and found the Congressional website recording all votes. I have browsed this website before and left with the same frustration and discontent. Parsing the information to try and understand what the vote contained and how and why it came before the body was time-consuming and confusing. I still do not entirely understand how the process works. The process is so convoluted with proposals and amendments that it is no wonder the federal bureaucracy has grown into such an uncontrollable behemoth. How can the average citizen ever get a firm grasp on Congress’ activities? We must rely on external agencies and trust their integrity to do the parsing for us and report. Unfortunately, with all the agenda-driven media, blindly trusting anything written online is nearly impossible. Nevertheless, who can take the hours of investigation to sift through the rhetoric and understand the situation? Necessity dictates that we do what we can when our conscience provokes us to action, for ignoring those impulses has driven us to these dire straits.
In all this research, I found an article on The Blaze with the following headline:
GOP lawmakers move to codify DOGE to block left’s lawfare
In this article, there is a link to a source article from Fox News online that has a downloadable PDF (be patient if you try to download it) of the proposed legislation, the text of which I am pasting below.

A BILL

1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
2 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3 This Act may be cited as the “Department of Government Efficiency Act” or the “DOGE Act”.
4 SEC. 2. CODIFICATION OF EXECUTIVE ORDER 14210.
5 Executive Order 14210 (90 Fed. Reg. 9669, relating to implementing the President’s Department of Government Efficiency workforce optimization initiative) shall have the force and effect of law.
/end
Republican Lawmakers must continue to propose these types of Acts so the law will reflect the People’s will to reign in the Federal government’s extraconstitutional agencies and unsustainable spending. Suppose our collective desire is to see more austerity in the Halls of Congress to trim the fat in three-letter-agencies and spending. In that case, it is incumbent upon us to ensure our elected Representatives and Senators know our position, and we must ardently urge their support of measures such as this. They must have the political resolve to see this through or I fear our labor will have been in vain!
